Why would they break a documentary into ten minute segments instead of just presenting it as an hour long doc? Is there some streaming or cable TV application for ten minute segments?

Happens all the time. They likely have certain sections of the doc that focus on pre-production, production, post, the film's legacy, etc. Not all that uncommon to have a making-of divided into several parts.
I think we're getting a pretty substantial doc here. I'll be surprised if it's less than 45 mins. |

I believe that hour-long and longer documentaries require much higher fees for use of film clips, music, etc. That is why so many disc releases have several shorter supplemental pieces rather than one longer documentary.

I am still surprised we are getting a blu ray release...let along one that is based on a 4K scan, with special features, for only $15.
So who here saw this movie in theaters? Last edited by Dragon78; 01-21-2023 at 07:50 PM. |

For some reason I never saw this theatrically back then. I'm guessing my first experience must have been on HBO or something (I recall it almost got turned off on me when there was naked butt cheeks on screen), where as I easily saw Raiders a half dozen or so times that year. It's still hard to believe a movie ticket was only $1.50 back then.

Too bad Paramount only has the rights to the film in the US. I wish they would get the rights worldwide. Face/Off and Bringing Out the Dead would also be better suited to Paramount.
