It goes without saying that that hasn't happened and my guess is at this point, it won't. They should. At this point, it should already be done. We should be hoping they get released in HD, not hoping they get released at all on disc.

I wish Lady, Play Your Mandolin! could be included on one of those Looney Tunes Collector's Choice sets as a restored short (that short has yet to be restored uncut on home video), along with one full episode of The Bugs Bunny Show as an extra on the Collector's Choice volumes (similar to those Woody Woodpecker sets having one episode of The Woody Woodpecker Show on each volume), instead of sprinkling bits of bumpers or better yet, a bit of both. Heck, maybe we can have those Road Runner shorts from the 1971-1977 version of The Electric Company. We can dream, can't we?

I agree, it would be great to get a complete release of all of the shorts seeing as we know over two thirds of the shorts have been restored in HD. I sadly think that this release could end up being disappointing as it might included mostly really well known shorts that were already released on Blu-ray on the Platinum Collections. Unless if this ends up being like the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection Blu-ray, thankfully only 13 of the 60 shorts on that set were included on the Platinum Collections. The other 47 were new to Blu-ray!

I was going to ask what credit goes to them, but I see you're image link is broken.

At this point, I could care less about another Looney Tunes collection given they never completed the Looney Tunes Platnium Collection. I'm not about to start over only for them to not complete the releases once again.

Including Farm Frolics wouldn't be as much of a repeat as an original print had been found since the Platinum Collection release, which has the original titles and an extra gag.

There's also the original ending to Hollywood Steps Out, which turned up in a trims reel in a collection, but it still seems to be missing a little footage around it.

Most of the well-known shorts were on HBO Max, along with many obscurities until WB took the 1951-2004 shorts down. That and a lot of the shorts were digitally altered or tampered with, which include fake digital cross-fade effects, photoshopped titles, incorrect ending cards, and incorrect and botched soundtracks, amongst other things. Many from 1932-1950 suffer this as well. Wish all or most were on those Collector's Choice volumes corrected. It'll be a wasted opportunity if not, but it's Warner we're talking about.

Among these are from 1932-1969:

"Goopy Geer" (1932)

What would be AMAZING would be if they gathered all of the shorts that were on HBO Max, WarnerMedia Ride, and shown restored on MeTV and released them on Blu-ray in chronological order.

But as I’ve explained previously in this forum, as this volume isn’t a Warner Archive release and is a Volume. I highly doubt that’s what this release is going to be as it’s obvious that the pre-Daffy/Bugs shorts from the 1930’s would be harder to sell to the general public.

They've sold most, (emphasis on most) of the pre-Bugs/Daffy shorts on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volumes (mostly on black-and-white discs, discs mixed with more popular shorts or as bonus shorts, from the LTGC Vol. 3 to Vol. 6). Those days have sadly passed.

The SDS has dated the set for May 30th. Since Duck Dodgers was put up for pre-order two months before release, we should be getting a full press release and list of cartoons around March-ish.

That's IF this is a set worth buying and hyping. It says a lot about Warner's handling of classic cartoons that a new Looney Tunes blu-ray is met with anything other than unqualified enthusiasm.

Even if it's just a bunch of Super Stars/Golden Collection shorts but on Blu-Ray, I'll probably buy it.

So would I, I actually hope that at the very least we get the shorts that were cropped on the Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck Super Stars DVDs re-released. Lighter Than Hare from the Bugs disc hasn’t been released since then, and there are still six shorts that were cropped on the Daffy disc that haven’t been re-released on physical media since then making Design for Leaving, Stork Naked, Dime to Retire, Daffy's Inn Trouble, The Iceman Ducketh, and Suppresed Duck only available on DVD cropped into widescreen.
