My top row plus a small portion of the second use to be nothing but Doctor Who. I moved all that to its own dedicated small shelf. Freed up a lot of space so I decided to reorganize. Everything on the top shelf has always been kept together like that. Everything with the Kino titles on have always been sorted by release date. I never fully realized just how many Kino and Shout titles I owned. With a few more on the way.

Now I have to decide if I want to sort the remaining by WB, Disney, Paramount, Universal, 20th Century, etc and then Alphabetize the remaining labels which I
have a few odd balls like Eureka, Blue Underground et.

Something to ponder and work on this long weekend.

This is a fun part of collecting for me.

I always like seeing all of these pictures. My collection has gotten so big now, that I'm about 2 years behind in adding it on here and definitely behind in deleting anything that I sell. So I don't know how many I have, but definitely over 7500. I'm moving to a new house soon, and I am planning on setting up heavy duty L brackets and shelves on every wall in one of the rooms. I also may use some of the max steel shelves, but I am curious, if I was to connect 2 or 3 together, (which I understand can be done, even if not explicitly designed that way), are they sturdy enough to be freestanding?

I continuously try to put mY entire collection (bluray/4k/DVD) together and alphabetized. I just cannot bring myself to do it. I just like the grouping by boutique labels too much (I have sections for Kino Lorber, WAC, BU, Scream and Shout Factory, Arrow, MVD RC, CC, Code Red, Scorpion, Mill Creek, Vestron CS, VS, Paramount Presents, et al.) on two big shelves.

Then I have on another Ikea Billy shelf my studio releases, in no real particular order, ecxept I have a 90s section (my favorite era for film), Johnny DePp row, Mark Wahlberg, Halloween and Christmas sections.

I'm working on a shelf now for just my ~800 DVDs.

Then I have bluray TV together, followed with DVD TV sets together.

Box sets and VHS go on top of the Billy shelves.

It's a little bit chaotic, but I like the method to my madness. At least I know where to find everything... I'll try to post pics tonight.

I dig your Robert Johnson poster. Don't come across many Delta blues fans. Very cool.

I added extra shelves and got everything to how I like it for now with room to grow with space for stuff I have on order and preordered. I started out sorting by boutique label and then by WB, Universal, etc. That was a headache so I finally settled on everything else just alphabetized. The TV shows are sorted in a sense that I understand and modifications are likely.

Yes a dusting is needed,

Performed some major changes at the behest of my daughter. You'll notice all of her books on the top shelf of the first unit minus my Tolkein books. She wanted these to be her books that have been made into movies or TV shows. She can read a 500 page book in about a few days at 13, which is much faster than most adults. The hole on the second shelf is so I can reach my thermostat. The second shelving unit has my Dune collection. Most of these I have bought upon release, but I am filling the hardcover gaps that were released when I was too young to do anything about it. Everything has also been sorted genre except for Star Wars and TV, which get their own sections.

Updated Photo of the Library. I got a bookcase today and now, I have room to last me for the next 2-4 years, hopefully.

Other than tracking down 2-6 of Herbert's original novels in hardcover I'd call this done.

TheThomasTrinity I like the TV series collection. I have 134 different tv shows most are complete runs. Debating about if I going to rebuy since several seem to be getting upgraded to Blu Ray. Am trying to purge most of my regular movie DVDs and just keep DVDs of TV sets.

Thanks! I know I'm missing things that I want and I think I want to upgrade my GoT blu-rays to the 4K set. I would love it if I could replace all my DVDs with blu-ray versions but that's not likely going to happen. I want to invest in custom shelving in the future as well. I think some things need to be organized a bit better. My categories are: horror, Marvel (MCU and Non-MCU), Disney/Pixar, DC Universe, Star Trek, Pokémon, Musicals, solo Steel Books, TV, Music concerts, DVD movies, stand up comedy, movies that are part of a series.

Well I haven't uploaded a new pic in 5 years, I believe, and I have my collection in a different place now. I just decided to take this one wide shot image, it should be good enough to see most of the collection detailed enough.

Long journey since joining in 2009 with 54 Blu-ray movies
