Default 1080i vs. 1080p

I've got a 42" panasonic plasma that I got before if had my PS3 and before I knew much about 1080i, or 1080p. Now it's a 1080i t.v. and It looks amazing for all of my BD's and games on my PS3, but now i'm looking to get a new t.v. Am I really going to notice a difference between 1080i and 1080p??? I know 1080p is the best available, just wanna get some thoughts...

There is a difference, but you probably won't notice unless you go 50" or bigger.

anything above 40" is good for 1080p. it also depends on your sitting distance as well. but if you're going to get a new tv you might as well go with 1080p for a little more futureproofing. i know i would.
