Meh. Not really digging the design of this one. Recycled artwork with a plain red background. All of the 101 covers look like throwaways, tbh. This Target one's still the best though. Interesting that the Signature Collection roundel is not on the cover as well, hopefully it's just a mockup error.

Really looking forward to owning this film on Blu-ray. It was one of the very first VHS I had as a kid, had a lot of Dalmatian-themed stuff too.

So far, no sign of them on the Target website so I'm getting nervous. I really hope they just haven't announced them yet!
They are there for pre order. After this drop of three titles (Aladdin/Sleeping Beaty/101 Dalmatians) in a two month span, all that is left is Jungle Book for the Signature series assuming they follow the Diamond releases.

There is also Fantasia, regardless of if it is released in the Signature Collection, it's going to be released nonetheless.

And also the 4K of Beauty and the Beast.

A bit strange that we didn't actually get press releases for these two. Just artwork, a trailer and special feature reveals - though not as detailed as usual.

Looks like this one will be dropping the original mono the previous US release had (the European and JP BDs have dub tracks in lieu of the mono).

I noticed that the DMA-exclusive featurette "Cruella's Lost Role" will be on the Blu-Ray now.

That's an unfortunate thing I've noticed when Disney re-releases some of their movies. They manage to keep every bonus feature on the disc sometimes, EXCEPT for the deleted scenes and/or songs. It also happened with Pinocchio, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book.

I guess that means the 1969 and 1979 trailers have now become digital exclusives, while the 1991 trailer remains exclusive to the 1999 Limited Issue DVD.

It's possible it will be included, it's just not mentioned on the packaging (it's happened before).

All the trailers has been in the disc, the trailers has for 1961, 1969, 1979 and 1985. And the Lost Cruella rôle, only in digital in 2015, is now in the disc in this released. No exclusive at all in digital for this released (same thing with Pinocchio and Peter Pan).

Is there ANY hope that the Walt-era movies will come out in 4K?

Given that the last three Walt-era signatures got the skip, while interspersed between Renaissance-era 4Ks. Probably not, sadly.

Never say never, right? We might be able to see them in some other phase of releases, but it's a waiting game. This year Disney was less concerned with performing restorations for the remaining Signature Collection titles and focused more on the launch / shift to their digital platform. It's transparent with the push of the scheduled 101 Dalmatians / Sleeping Beauty re-releases (and the "anniversary" edition of Cinderella). The Renaissance titles are generally safe bets for Disney to experiment with when testing the market (theatrical re-releases, 3D, 4K, etc). We'll see them when we see them. I don't think it's out of the question.

Wishful thinking: Next year will see 4K releases of Cinderella (during its real 70th anniversary) and Sleeping Beauty (coinciding with the home video release of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil), similar to when Alice in Wonderland had a DVD-only "cash in on Tim Burton's version" re-release, followed by the 60th Anniversary Blu-ray ~1 year later.
Just wishful thinking, though.

There were quite a few layoffs at the newly combined Fox/Disney Home Entertainment division - cuts were made from both Fox and Disney just yesterday.
