I found this at one store:

I found season 2 a few years ago and watched it before this one. Thought it was interesting, but I ended up donating it. Kinda regret it since I found season 1. Funny how this appeared in my life: I was gonna buy "Hitchhiker's Guide..." blu at Big Lots (hoping to buy it next week) just a few minutes earlier.

Season One of this show is excellent. Enjoy!

I stopped by two nearby DTs over the weekend, but didn't find anything other than the same ol' stuff. I visited another one over lunch today and found a couple of new boxes! I don't think they were truly new titles, especially as the receipt says 2022 for all of them, but there were definitely titles I'd never seen before. Nice to walk out with some new stuff again!

Glad you have found these, great deals for sure, but these have definitely been around since last year. I'm hoping to find Phantasm Ravager soon.

Yeah, I had definitely seen at least a few of them in posts from other forum members, but I had never seen any of them in person. And at today's DT, there were two new boxes on the floor by the existing movie stock, so I was just happy to see that some new-to-me stuff arrived!

Was craving some popcorn on Saturday so I stopped by a DT and finally found The Art of Self-Defense on Blu-Ray.

Also thought I'd mention that like 2-3 weeks ago I found a DVD of a movie called Blood on Her Name, which is released by Yellow Veil Pictures, a VS partner label. IIRC the souped-up Blu-Ray of the movie with slip was $10 during the VS 10 Year Sale, but I never picked it up because the movie has mixed reviews and wasn't sure if a blind buy was worth it. But for $1.25 I'll take a chance.. even if it's a "lowly" DVD (which doesn't bother me).

Watching season two of Dirk Gently without the first must have been strange, like Buckaroo Banzai levels of getting thrown into the middle of an adventure. While it's plenty bizarre, the first season is a sci-fi, murder mystery, rather than fantasy. So, that also makes it a little easier for an introduction. I've never read any Douglas Adams, so I decided to watch the 1981, miniseries version of Hitchhiker's Guide... afterward. The VHS quality was tough to watch, but that has some excellent writing, with chunks clearly taken straight from the book.

As much as people love to mock the dregs that Dollar Tree carries, I love Dirk Gently so much, it alone makes up for any junk I've blind bought there. I'd still be unaware of it had it not been for people in this thread. Another random gem I'd never heard of was A Young Doctor's Notebook, a pitch black comedy with John Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe.

I went to two stores today that had restocked with Big Lots titles; complete with the Big Lots $5 barcode sticker. I also found two MGM titles that I've wanted to find, but never saw in my area: Men at Work and Nicholas Nickleby.

Some other titles I saw but didn't get: Anchorman: The Rich Mahogany Edition, Out of the Furnace (Canadian Blu-ray), Andre (DVD), Disturbia (DVD).

Wait, VHS quality? For a blu-ray?

I picked up Young Doctor's Notebook when it showed up at DT. It was solid. Another DVD I ended up donating that I kinda regret now. I just wanted to get rid of DVDs! lol

Default Sad news

End of an era, got told by a dollar tree manager they wouldn't be carrying any more movies after this and dollar tree is going stop carrying movies, so these right here will probably be the last batch or wave ever or if not that for a very long time but thinking ever

Indeed. It was super fun 2-3 years ago going on the hunt for these. Still remember the incredible black Friday drop that happened (was it 2021?) with cool steelbooks and decent studio releases. The quality of the titles stayed somewhat consistent for a bit than it just seemed to be a nose dive and never recovered. Got some laughs seeing people repurpose those yellow blu ray cases and also a few lucky users who even stumbled across 4k's!

They should at least drop a Wave during the Christmas holidays.

I wish I had jumped on the Hunting way earlier (even if it meant space issues for me lol). I remember finding some DVDs in like 2013 or 2014. I didn’t start hunting until around late 2016/early 2017. (Side note: it’s gonna be 6 years since I’ve been here. Wow.)

For those that started out early, when did they start getting blus from the big companies? Finding WB and Sony blus was always a treat.

I think it might been 2021 but not sure bro, I think I know the drop your talking about, they were still $1.00 and there was tons of movies, I went to one dollar tree and they had titles galore, some them being pretty good titles, and went to different ones and found more great titles

I'm not sure bro, I would find them and buy a couple then really started getting into the waves and hunts, but was like you at first I think and only bought a few then got majorly into it

First 7-11, now DT. All we have is Big Lots for cheap prices and they’ve been spotty since 2021. They just got in a solid shipment; first time in like a year.

It was the drop that had Steelbook copies of The Hangover if I recall!
