Default Google Play Movies now on Roku; Free first X-Men movie

I was browsing the channel store on my Roku today looking for the Retromedia channel and noticed there is a now a Google Play Movies channel. I added it and it makes you go to your pc and put in a verification code at http://play.google.com/roku and then your Google Movie library is available. When you launch the channel after verifying, it asks you if you would like X-Men for free and will give you the first movie in HD.

I don't have many movies in my Google library, but it is cool to have a easy way to access them on my TV now.

:Edit:
It turns out this was officially released today.

In a way this kind of makes me believe the rumors about Google trying to join UV. I hope it's true, the more alternate ways we can access our digital libraries the better.

:update:
My lines are crossed somewhere and I guess I am unintentionally starting a rumor. Sorry everyone!

I think the rumors are Google joining DMA and Amazon joining UV. I haven't heard the rumor of Google joining UV until you started it. Any links?

I wasn't meaning to "start" any rumors. Perhaps I misunderstood.

I think I'm done posting here for awhile. Thanks...

Sorry, I didn't really mean to be offensive, just slightly humorous.

+1. Google Play/DMA was discovered by leaks in DMA source code even before Vudu joined the leak (which has since been removed); reportedly Disney CSRs have also said Vudu & Google Play will join by year's end. (Vudu alone is also mentioned in several reports.) There are several posts about this in the DMA thread, including copies of the leaked source code.

Amazon joining UV has been rumored by the media; there's a couple of threads here with links to those articles.

Both, of course, are mere rumors until they are confirmed by the actual sources -- though IMO Vudu & Google Play are almost certain to join DMA, most likely either Tuesday (Maleficent, Planes: Fire & Rescue) or Nov. 18 (Frozen Sing Along Edition on DVD & digital only, plus digital early release of Guardians of the Galaxy). Edit: I wrote this before seeing the leaked GotG cover in the DMA thread, which all but confirms Vudu will join DMA no later than Dec. 9.
