The kneeling scene gave me goosebumps with its extreme cringe factor. Oof - I would bury that scene to never see the light of day again.

Just got done watching Endgame on Disney+ in the new Imax Enhanced version.
I probably haven't watched it in full for a long time, and it doesn't irk me as much with some of the stuff around the time travel, but i was curious about a few things. Thanos in Infinity War managed to use the time stone to basically reconstitute the Mind stone and all of the blown up bits of Vision, so why wouldn't it have been technically possible for Dr Strange to say reverse the critical damage on Tony in the finale? Also, watching the scene of them in like the little therapy group, was that Olivia Munn? And one other thing that i noticed on this watch off the top of my head was that somehow Bucky despite being snapped back almost immediately after he left when snapped in Infinity War, he's shown in a shot in the final battle with a bigger looking beard and different style of hair. I guess it's more of a small continuity mistake but a shame. |

Infinity War is a top five movie for me. Not CBM; all time. It is far superior to Endgame. While the latter played viewers with fan service, the former has gravitas, a darker edge, and a buildup of genuine dread, while still giving the heroes their big pops. Endgame is empty calories in comparison.
In fact, if the MCU goes belly-up in the next few years, I'd be happy with Infinity War as my exit point. Thanos wins, a bunch of noble heroes die, and that's that. |

The two films I think dealt with this very well focusing on some characters more in Infinity War and others in End Game. Personally the first hour of End Game is really what sets it apart for me, to spend all that time on building the characters back up again from hopelessness was quite unique for a blockbuster and really did give them the chance to show off the quality of the cast and the writing. Then again I'm a miserable bastard, grief and regret seems to make up a good amount of my favourite films. |
