Default Help! Oppo 95: Who on Long Island Will Install JVB Digital Region Free Mod kit?

I have several treasured Region B Blu Ray movies which I canít play on my Oppo BDP-95 Region A BD player.

I can order this very popular and bug proof kit here https://www.jvbdigital.nl/jvb.asp le...tle&title=1155

If it was life or death of course I could do it, but Iíd rather have someone unscrew the two boards in the player to get at the RS232 port to plug the module in.

Obviously, itís a very simple job. And earlier this year I had shipped the player to Oppo service to have it overhauled-and who replaced the disc loader-so it works great.

The only people who used to do anything with BD players on LI are all retired.

Please refer me to anyone you know who may help in the 631 or 516 area code.

Why don't you get one of the external mods? not sure if they're still available.

Otherwise a PC repairer might be your best bet.

If its the same JVC as they always sold its trival

The BDP-93 hardware mod is even easier to install than the one I used for the BDP-83. The mod kit consists of a small circuit board with a serial connector on one end and a USB cable attached to the other end. All you have to do is plug one into the USB input on the back of the player and the other into the RS232 port. It’s that simple. You don’t even need to take the hood off the player. (If the prospect of having an exposed circuit board jutting out of the back of the player bothers you, or if you’re already using those inputs for other purposes, the kit also has instructions for a slightly more complicated internal installation.

they are that easy to fit that the Black knight from Monty python's Holy Grail could do the job
