I’d say it’s pretty much between the 77” Sony A80J or the 77” LG C1. Both are on sale right now and just under $3K with the LG being a little cheaper.

The new models also just got announced from both LG and Sony (A80K and C2). So it might be worth waiting a bit to see how the prices and features compare to those last year’s models. But if you’d rather get a sale price then now would be the time to buy.

Can’t go wrong with either one really. The Sony will be slightly better if you watch more lower-quality content from like streaming and/or cable, and the LG has better gaming features. But if you stick to higher quality content like blu-rays/4K discs, the image quality between both is very very comparable.

Sony's 77A80J and LG's 77C1 are both on sale for $2,899.
