I'm hoping the same. I bought a few Japanese blus but besides them and the Shout DVDs, everything else I've watched via fansubs. I'd love to get more official releases. I'd buy them all!

Well, it looks promising for more Sentai now they've started again after a long pause.

Now, are they going to stick with the release pattern of one pre-PR going backwards then one PR adaptated in order, and so-on, or mix it up I wonder? I wouldn't mind them going way back with some early ones - we don't need them in order, I just want them all as my main interest is the older ones pre-heavy CG use anyway.

I wouldn't mind movie* releases either - since these are a separate licence I could see movie-only collections being possibilities. I don't care if the main shows have been released or not yet, I'd take anything. Some of those movies look very interesting so it's a shame the series releases don't have them.

*I know they use this term loosely, since a lot of them are the same length as a normal episodes, they just got theatrical releases in Japan.

I'd definitely be up for spin-offs too like Akibaranger and the South Korean Dino Force Brave.

Akibaranger would be amazing, but I wonder if there are separate licensing issues for that one since it's "unofficial" and all. Off the subject a little, and I seriously doubt this would ever release officially in English anywhere, but have any of you ever watched Tokusatsu GaGaGa? Again, I saw it first via fansub, but afterward I decided to buy the official Japanese BD set. It's based off a manga (which I haven't read), but the show was an obvious love letter to tokusatsu fans, especially Super Sentai. If you can watch it somewhere, I HIGHLY recommend it! And if by some miracle someone licenses it for a domestic release (it's not a Toei production), then

Akibaranger probably goes in the same pile that would need approval from eOne/Hasbro, just like the Sentai crossovers.

Also it would need more than what's currently out on DVD since it has references to events in the "official" shows that would count as spoilers since some of them have yet to get released here (see Sun Vulcan for one example).

When asked about the status of the Kamen Rider movies, Media Blasters tweeted today that they’re prioritizing things they already have in-house but that they should know more about Kamen Rider in the next 60 days.

So it unfortunately sounds like the tentative plan for October isn't happening, unless I'm misinterpreting the tweet. But at least we have Kuuga and Gavan to take out some of the sting!

Media Blasters tends to not even start work on a release until pre-orders go up (they seriously tweeted about starting work on Alive just a few weeks later). There usually is a quick turnaround though as long as nothing comes up that changes plans (like what happened with Pinocchio 964).

Based on some of their past social media posts, they've been working on the Kamen Rider films one at a time over the past few months, so that's part of the job done. From the sounds of that tweet they are waiting for some more materials from Japan to arrive. Unless it's something major there would probably be a quick turn around too.

So that October date might could still happen but pre-orders would have to show up sooner than 60 days. We will see.

TBH I'm trying to hold off watching any of the new KR releases in hopes that Shout announces a set for the first series, so I'm not in a huge hurry. There's not much reason to watch these in release order but at the very least let me start with the OG.
