My wallet was eased by flogging some blurays for 20 quid last week, so I like to think I had it for 41 quid

Foolish to let someone else make your mind up for you. You've been pretty vocal about how much this set stinks, yet you haven't even experienced it yourself. Not exactly a well thought out opinion.

I bought it full price, (well, not really because I had vouchers) and definitely do not regret doing so.

I'm sure after some of the negative press if you truly don't think the set is up to standard Amazon will let you return it.

Give it a go. I haven't heard one member who actual has the set say how disappointed they are with it's quality apart from a few of the transfers (which I doubt will be improved upon for a long time).
People have said on here they do not think its worth the price as there are weak transfers in it. So im basing it on that.

I will email amazon to ask if they will let me return it if I am not satisfied after opening it. Only issue with that is it will take a long time to watch all of the films as I dont have the time with work at the moment.

Thats fair enough, but I like to make my own mind up, Ive read some reviews for other discs which said they were awful, I bought them and I was pleasantly surprised. Perhaps I'm easily pleased I dont know

So everyone who reads reviews and opinions online are letting someone else make their mind up for them? I like to make an informed decision when something costs so much, and from everything I have heard it is not worth over 50 to me, and that's called making up my own mind.

From the Blu-ray.com review...

"Vertigo isn't a perfect Hitchcock film as some contend"

I think if you can go through the films you have doubts about (some of the best-known films have very good reviews) and Amazon will let you return it if you're not happy then you can't lose. I think they give 28 days to return an item, so you should be able to watch 3-4 of the films that you maybe worried about. At the end of the day you should be happy with your purchase but you may decide that the good outweighs the bad.

I'm in no rush, I have plenty of other things to watch. The less money I spend on this box, the less likely I will be annoyed with any problems.

I was very very close to buy either the regular set from Amazon in this ligtning deal or the limited set for a 100. But decided to believe my initial belief that all the films will get individual releases..will get..they will..they will be available..I think and hope.

Not at all a bad price considering my old DVD equivalent will sell for around 20-25 on ebay. Maybe another fiver for the Psycho Blu-ray.
