It'd be cool to finally get a blu ray release of Curse of the Were Rabbit to coincide with Early Man coming out...

Obviously because they CBA to do separate EU & non-EU masters for Blu-Ray, now the EU release gets the (botched IMO) 24fps slowed-down masters.
Is this true? I thinking about buying this but I want them at the correct speed.

The Australian set won't play in my American 4K Blu-Ray player, will it?

Me too! I hadn't watched it in a couple years and pulled it out a couple months ago and my player wouldn't recognize it. I will be buying it again, though I will wait till the new movie comes out to see if there is any sort of re-release.

How disappointing. I'm glad i hadn't imported it yet, was about to, but thought i'd double check. So the only way to see it in HD with the original music/speed is on the BBC at this point?

I played my copy tonight and all four of the main "movies" played without incident.

Within the extras, however, I ran into some difficulty getting the Shaun The Sheep short to play and also the trailers. It took three times to get Shaun The Sheep to play both the video and audio and likewise with the trailers. The other tries only resulted in the audio playing. When that happened, I just pressed the menu key and launched the extra feature again until eventually it played correctly. There is something not entirely right here, but I was able to get everything within the Extras to play.

I bought my copy in 2009 and played it on an Oppo 203. Many of the complaints on Amazon have been posted relatively recently; I don't know if that means more recent pressings are the most problematic or if they all are. Mine worked with the caveats noted, but I think I will back this disc up to a BD-R and as a raw data disc without the menus and see how they play.

Would love to get this, since these shorts were a big part of my childhood, but with all the problems discussed in this thread, I'll probably hold out on a new edition. Curse of the Were Rabbit is also in desperate need of a Blu, along with Chicken Run.

There's a region-free German blu-ray of Chicken Run.

I've just tried to watch this and it's unreadable
I bought the US version as it came out first but would replace it with the uk version to get Loaf at the correct speed.
But the US distributor is Lionsgate. I wonder if a UHD is on the horizon?

Just listening to the official soundtrack of the opening theme to A Grand Day Out, the speed/pitch matches that of the Blu-ray, so wouldn't that mean the Blu runs at the correct speed?

I just bought the Australian Blu-Ray set, and A Grand Day Out is at a lower pitch than the others. Yet, it's still at 25Hz, like it should.

Mastering error? Distributor hatred towards Australia? That’s how it was originally?

To be honest, I didn’t realize there was a question or inquiry.

Never mind, actually. I found an HD version of A Grand Day Out in the correct speed and pitch on iTunes.

Speaking of which, Amazon Prime now has the original 3 shorts in their correct pitch at long last!

Count me among those whose disc is now unreadable. I pulled this out on Saturday to watch along with couple other moon related shorts and features on the moon landing anniversary and it wouldn't load. It's just a fancy coaster now.
