DVD.it now has a preorder up. It says English and Italian but also lists a 1:78:1 Open Matted AR. I hope that is wrong but it just adds to the growing uncertainty regarding the specs of this release. |

Well, someone on AVS is saying that he contacted Mondo and they confirmed no English audio. I have asked pro-b if it would have them, and he let me know that a reliable source had flagged the release with English audio. Boy oh boy this release is getting fun. I am not sure what is going to happen but I have my copy on order and will let you know how it turns out.

This just got weirder. From Mondo's own site:
http://www.mondohe.com/novita-ottobr...to-il-cattivo/ Specs: Quote:
**Lets see if these specs change as Mondo's site seems to be acting up. _________________________________________ DVDStore Italy has this new specs: Formato video 2,35:1 Anamorfico 1080p Formato audio 2.0 PCM: Italiano 5.1 DTS HD: Italiano Sottotitoli Italiano NU Sounds more accurate tbh. dvdstore got the right one for sure.
author confirmed that they wanted to put only italian track. Also video has been totally remastered and to follow more the idea of the original film. Also its screwed the size of BD because its bd50 (confirmed by the author himself as always) |

Comparisons of the MGM BR and Mondo BR. Wow, the Mondo version craps all over the MGM. Also it is a BD50, my mistake. Glad I didn't try to cancel my order. Last edited by AnimeOnBlu; 10-11-2009 at 03:16 AM. |

I already hated the MGM (Fox) disc for only giving us the remixed sound and super-extended cut (which included a long, unnecessary scene that Leone did not want and cut from all versions of the film), and I always felt that there was too much digital trickery. This seals it. The Italian video remaster truly reveals the shoddy, minimum effort Fox put into this release.
