Thanks for the update. Looks like I'll be hanging on to my Blue Underground release.

Yes, there's no point in forking out for that abomination from Shameless.

If Doppia Faccia and AHP2 both come out in June it's gonna be an explosive month.

Ah well that's actually kind of a relief (that it was posted elsewhere), I thought the discussion over Sister Streetfighter had brought out the forum sickos.

Probably another sock account losing the plot again and spamming threads with a rather lewd animated gif.

YES! Was concerned this wouldn't happen as it seemed to take an age for set one to sell out. I held off buying it due to so many negative reviews, which I regretted once I got hold of the set, the movies are strange and off-beat, but little gems. The box set and included book are really good quality and the extras including interviews with Stephen Thrower are excellent.

Will buy this day one to support the series!

AHP Vol.2 will be worth buying just for Dark August alone if that is indeed in the set as we suspect.

Dawnofthediscs posted this on twitter (presumably it refers to Cant's appearance on the most recent Hysteria Continues podcast):

Quote:
Ewan Cant of @ArrowFilmsVideo also teased a huge Slasher announcement for Texas Frightmare Weekend in May!
Now they've already said they don't have MBV. What does this realistically leave in terms of a 'huge Slasher announcement', given that many are already out on Blu-ray (and seemingly still in-print), and given that some (like April Fool's Day) will surely be out of reach? The Prey maybe? Silent Madness finally? Or could they have grabbed something from Warner, like Alone in the Dark, He Knows Your Alone, or Alice Sweet Alice? With regard to that last guess, it's worth bearing in mind that this could be a US exclusive.

Might have something to do with this maybe.

Don't know if anybody else experienced this but for some reason the prices of all Arrow releases were increased significantly over at Amazon.co.uk. Normally i would pay between £ 10,- and £ 15,- for the newer releases. But since a month or two all their new releases are at least £ 20,- or more. Same goes for 88 Films although their price increase is not quite as radical as the Arrow releases. Anyone know what's going on with those recent price increases? I live in the Netherlands by the way.

The issues with HMV mean they have no one to match/compete with. Should sort itself out in good time, I assume no one would be buying at these prices

My theory is that Arrow have hiked their prices to intermediaries like Amazon while they negotiate with HMV. If they can point to a high starting price in negotiations then they might be in a position to resist being dragged down to far on unit price by the only high street game in town.

I think if anyone were in any doubt as to what would happen if Amazon became the only game in town, this is a useful corrective. And while they're at liberty to charge whatever they like, I'm simply not playing ball with Arrow/Amazon while they continue with this pricing; right now WOW/Warner are getting my money instead.
