I'm probably going to wait on this one to see who gets the best set of extras, since I'm sure the transfer will be the same everywhere.

German edition has just been announced from Universal:

Quote:
Alternative Opening (HD)
• Alternate Ending (HD)
• Deleted Scenes (HD)
• Gag Reel (HD)
• Audio commentary with director Wes Craven, Hayden Panettiere and Emma Roberts and a guest appearance by Neve Campbell
• Featurettes
• Featurette: The Story Scream
• Featurette: Scream 4
• Cast & Crew Interviews
• Movie Trailer

I definitely get that viewpoint, but at places like this: (http://scream-trilogy.net/2011/07/th...alternate-cut/) "fanatics" that saw S4 multiple times in theaters are swearing by the alterations. I myself saw it once, so am (skeptically) taking them at their word. But we'll know soon enough anyway.

I forgot who said it, but they are very reliable. The difference with the PPV cut was some alternate lines and stuff. I don't remember any examples off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure some were posted in this thread a few weeks back.

I didn't mind it missing. It was used in the original trilogy -- and using it to end Scream 3 was a fitting conclusion to that franchise.

4 was supposed to be the start of a new series so I can see them wanting to start 'fresh' in that regard by dropping some of the old 'wink wink' bits.

I still think it would have been a nice reference to fans. Maybe someone hears it on the radio, or something in that vein... (On another note, judging from the box office of Scream 4, I'm not sure that "first in a new series" has not now become "the last in A series".

Why do you think Scream 5 won't be happening...

It made nearly $100 million on a $40 million budget. The home video release will give it a nice profit. They already said they will most likely do a Scream 5. There is no reason for them not to do it. They just need to release it at a better time of the year...so I'm sure we will see Scream 5 in October 2012 (if they rush) or October 2013. Plus, Rated R slasher films have never been big profits, besides mainly the first Scream films. This film did around average what other R-rated slasher films have been doing.

Point being: I would be completely shocked if there was no Scream 5.

The Weinstein Brothers have already said they were fast tracking Scream 5 into production. They said they read Kevin Williamsons scripts for a 5th film and a 6th film and LOVED where he wanted to take the franchise.

Its going to happen people, just because you don't want it to doesn't mean it will, especially when studio heads are enthusiastically behind the films.

Guys... I've been following Dimension Films/The Weinstein Company and the latest there was, was Harvey WeinStein saying he was "SURE" of Scream 5 happening.

Dimension Films teased us on Twitter:

DimensionFilms Dimension FIlms
Lots of rumors flying around about #SCREAM5 ! Love the idea or hate it? Let us know @DimensionFilms

http://twitter.com/#!/DimensionFilms

They retweeted this person:

BLunn85 Brian Lunn
by DimensionFilms
@
@DimensionFilms Love the idea! Scream could go on forever in my book, need to see more Ghostface!

They wouldn't re-tweet for no reason.

Check this topic out as well, he's head of the company: http://scream-trilogy.net/ultimatemb...=6615&start=20

Clearly false as it's never been posted before. Even the big Scream boards ( http://scream-trilogy.net/ultimatemb/ ) doesn't even know about it. Quit spreading rumors.

I really hope they won't rush it if it's green light.
