I feel like a numbskull. I bought the Criterion DVD years ago and still haven't watched it.

Looking forward to double-dipping on the Trilogy next week though.

Thanks for the heads-up! Have been aware of Veronique for many years but haven't had an opportunity to see it. Just did the research on IMDB and elsewhere, and read the review here, and am sold! Didn't realize Irene Jacob was in it~ loved her in Red, as I know many do...

As for the Trilogy, that's a no-brainer! Really looking forward to see it in Blu.

Kieslowski is the best director that many people still haven't heard of. Veronique, Three Colors, and The Decalogue are as good as any other filmmaker's best films, period. Now if only Criterion could get The Decalogue...

My only concern is that there has never really been even a great DVD release of The Decalogue. All 4 releases have had vastly different color timings... So it would be an interesting undertaking, to say the least, with Kieslowski dead to get all 10 episodes done properly through the respective cinematographers.

What's the basis for this statement? Generally, Artificial Eye have a very good track record on blu, I own many of their releases and haven't been disappointed thus far.

OK, then. I guarantee that we will have a full, detailed review. How's that

Great, I did not doubt that.

I'm leaning towards the Criterion for now because I love the packaging, but if the VQ and AQ are very similar, I might consider the AE.

Well, just read the description on Amazon.co.uk: no packaging, but all three films in just one disc, PAL colour encoding, no DTS-audio.
Criterion largely beats the Artificial Eye edition.

I strongly recommend that you DO NOT read what is posted on Amazon to form an opinion. The three films cannot be on one disc. And Artificial Eye are a terrific company known for their quality products.

Thanks.

Wow, I am really tempted... not sure my B&N still accepts the $8 coupons though... might try this weekend.

I've been waiting for this release since before it was even announced, impatiently hitting refresh on the UPS tracker.

Watched Blue, very pleased with the quality. As the review states there is some very minor noise in a few spots, but I didn't find it overly obvious or distracting.

My shipment from B&N was delayed because the "release date was changed".

That must just be an automated response. I bought a copy at a brick and mortar B&N here in LA yesterday. The release date was most certainly not changed.

Default Defective audio on White?

So I got this set in the mail yesterday and I'm concerned there may be a defect with the audio on "White." It wasn't clear until I got the set that the audio is 2.0 surround, not stereo. Meaning it is meant to be played with pro-logic turned on to create the surround mix from two channels. (It says to turn on pro-logic in the liner notes). Blue and Red definitely sound like proper surround mixes, but on White I am only hearing one channel. I put my ear right up against my other speakers and couldn't hear a peep. That would happen if the two audio channels are identical, which would be an error with the disc.

Anyone else experience this?

I watched White yesterday.
My setup is a Panasonic BDT 110 in bitstream, plugged to a Yamaha RV-465, set in straight.
I definitely had a DTS-HD MA 2.0, which used both of my front speakers (quite nicely, by the way).

I finally got to watch all three films and enjoyed them a lot

if there was one issue i had with any of the films it was that the temporal shifts in white were a little too sudden for my tastes.... it was a little jarring in a few instances. Other than that minor quibble, it was quite good

in order of enjoyment, I'd probably rate them:

Red
Blue
White
