Note : Due to threats to individuals and possibly this board, and the loss of sources to these files due to sharing by those who've found them, it has been collectively decided to stop sharing multi layered PSDs files.

Welcome to the thread for posting your variety of Style Guide Art, Character Art, whether it's rendered, layered, PNG or PSD and Key Art. High-res is preferred as well as layered PSDs or transparent PNGs. Adobe Illustrator vector art is also welcomed since it's usually a part of any Style Guide, however a link is useful to show what it looks like when it's been rastered. The vector link should be available for download in it's original .ai or .eps form.

For those of you who are unfamiliar to style guides, I'll explain. When an agency is given a project to create any kind of visuals for packaging, advertising or printed materials, they're given a style guide by the studio's licensing or marketing department. These guides have everything the agency needs to preserve the look and feel the studio feels it should have. Look at this style guide for example:

Lucasfilm had Design Force create a style guide for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The many companies who want to use The Clone Wars on their products, will use this guide and it's art (usually in digital form) as a starting point for designing the packaging for their products. Hasbro is a good example...they will use the art in this style guide for their toy packaging, Target will use it in their toy aisles to advertise the toys and clothing companies will use it to print T-Shirts and so on.

The good part is that eventually the Style Guide become obsolete as new art is created, like new art for the newest season of The Clone Wars. This makes the older guides obsolete and unusable and they end up being taken home, thrown away or for sale on ebay. I've found them in every way imaginable and I have been collecting them for over 10 years. They're used for movies, animation, comic books, toys, DVDs & Blu-ray packaging, merchandising and special events. Some studios send the guides out on DVDs placed nicely inside a printed binder like Warner Bros. does, others provide the digital files available online for download like 20th Century Fox. Disney prefers sending a hard drive to the agency so that all the files can be copied to a computer or server and then the hard drive is sent back to Disney.

Simply put, the Style Guide is like the Bible for the particular art it so represents, it's literally the best art you can get because it comes first hand from the studio itself. It contains everything the agency needs to represent and advertise the likeness without the agency having to create anything on their own, they just use the Style Guide as a template to apply the look and feel or "style" the studio wants the agency to use.

The art is available mostly in PSD (Photoshop Document) or as a vector line art (Adobe Illustrator or EPS) so that the agency designers have the freedom to manipulate and move the images around freely. The images are also very high in resolution so that the printed materials are clear and colorful, this is where we come in, because we're here for the better art, the high-res art...and that's hopefully what we can all share here. Let's have a lot of fun tinkering with each other's high-res digital treasures and see what we can dazzle each other with.
