some comic book movies (nolan's batman and now amazing spiderman) are trying for a more realistic take. im tired of the excuse when something doesnt make sense: well its a comic book movie.

Nolan's Batman films threw the so-called "realism" out the window pretty quickly with the sequel though.

And they are comic books.. so you do have to take any comic book film with a dose of absurdity.

I tried searching for this through the search engine here but I couldn't find anything, but I have a question:

I got the walmart edition with the extra DVD, but I noticed a few things in the movie:

1. A frame or a few are missing from the scene where he encounters the car thief.

2. The audio cuts on a couple of times in the end of the movie.. When he goes through the crane and when he jumps from the fire escape. This is in the end when he's just spider-man swinging around the city.

Has anyone experienced these?

Some have said that the jump cut is supposed to be there in the carjacking scene & is that way on all copies of the movie.

As for the audio problem, are you listening through a surround sound system? Is the same problem there when you listen through regular tv speakers?

did anyone ever explain why the marketing of this film is so different from the actual movie? I mean where are the secrets? they are not even mentioned in the movie, only in the trailers. This is the lamest part of this prodution that I never get, up there with Peter dancing in SM3

They recut the film late in the process to make his origin more traditional and relatable. Bad Ass Digest had a great article about it a while back.

Yep. Basically this. But Webb is promising that we'll get more about it in the second movie, now that the origin is out of the way. I'm pretty sure it's going to play out over the trilogy, and whatever his parents were involved in at Oscorp will play a part in eventually seeing Norman turn into the Green Goblin.

I'm using my regular TV speakers. But I used the DVD on my mac and nothing was wrong.

It's larger than I thought, Blu has a Nice Lenticular sleeve. I'm just waiting for the Camera Battery to Charge.

Thumbs up

Great pictures - the set looks cool

What type of case do the discs themselves come in?

From the shots it doesn't look like a blue type BD Case

It's a fairly thick case with the Flip Segments inside for all 5 discs.

Other than that its a normal case really.

If Peter's parents don't come back as robots, I'll be disappointed. I want this series to revel in the stupidity the comics can descend into, since making a darker and edgier version didn't work out that swell.

The flash of the camera makes the busts look way nicer than they are, for forty bucks though, they're pretty decent.
