Was hoping for a update, fracking WB, they already did the work, release the damn thing. This whole censorship PC crap is so outta control. I mean if a cartoon makes you anyoy attended you have major problems. Somehow rape, muder, and other things are okay but oh no, you can't show anything about stereotypes....

One of the other roadblocks preventing the second set from being released I should point out is that (according to Jerry Beck) the family division of Warner Home Video has complete control of the Tom and Jerry cartoons, especially since WB has been making non-stop DTV movies featuring the duo (meanwhile, the Looney Tunes shorts are pretty much shared between that unit and the Warner Archive). That said, Beck also mentioned on Stu's Show a few months ago that better elements have been found for the shorts in case they do want to revisit this set.

Warner Archive is set to re-release the Tom and Jerry Golden Collection Volume 1 next month!:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084Z5HDY6

And I say this because now....Warner has created a loophole.

Here's the story; according to Jerry Beck way back on Stu's Show, T&J was handled exclusively through the family label at Warner Home Video. But with this Archive re-release, they have now just made it no longer the case.

By doing this, they have now given the Archive to share the key with them so to speak. This gives Archive the access to Tom and Jerry and thus the power to release....the Golden Collection Volume 2.

And being an online exclusive with no in-store release nationwide, kids and soccer moms won't be able to acquire it.

Now Warner has no choice.

Spread the word far and wide people because our chance to finally get the Golden Collection Volume 2 released has come at last!!!

With the move to Warner Archive, they could have removed the "Volume One" subtitle. They didn't. Sure, it could be like "The Story of the Clash, Volume 1" (no vol. 2 after 28 years), but I'd say there's a good shot that they'll end up releasing more Tom and Jerry on Archive.

Default Tom & Jerry Collections

Waiting how many years for the rest of Tom & Jerry Collection? It's about time WB! You will sell more product when you continue to release volumes/seasons. Big Bang Theory 12 seasons! Imagine if they waited like you WB to release another season? 12 seasons with no three year or more wait. This is why Smallville didn't sell, you never releasd the seasons that were never on bluray. People now will think...hmmm do I get Volume 2 but they never release a Volume 3? Wake up WB it's the original cartoons that will make you money not a 2020 remake of Tom & Jerry in the time of Game of Thrones (even though that would be interesting).

Break it up, everybody. Per Jerry Beck...

Although we may now have a slightly higher chance of the second volume coming out, I doubt the re-release of the first volume will affect the whole "home video division vs. legal department" scenario that is partly responsible for the former's cancellation. As far as I'm concerned, with the exception of better prints being found in case Warner wants to revisit the second volume (which I also doubt), the home video division is still stuck.

Default Thank god! Come on season 2 and more

I just emailed a bunch of the WB execs last month pleading to reconsider. I know a ton of complaints/issues with 2011 release and dropoff but everyone is thirsty for these. Release them or loose out on an entire generation of viewers that grew up with T&J and future fans that might never see an HD episode without these

My advice to you is to keep asking Warner Archive until they start to consider it.

And just to reiterate; WHV WANTS to release this! They WANT to give it to you, but the higher-ups are forcing them not to.

Warner Archive will be perfect; you won't find the set in stores and only online, it's perfect.

Much like the Porky Pig set testing the waters, followed by Popeye V.1, I think strong sales will ensure we get future releases.

I just realized they have Vol 1 and 2 already mastered. 60s shorts mastered. A bunch of Cinemascope shorts have been mastered (available on boomerang). Really they just need to finish whatevers left for Vol 3 and they maybe they'll release everything as they did with Teen Titans.

Yeah, but according to Jerry Beck, WB apparently found better masters for some of the cartoons, meaning that if they decide to (hypothetically) release Volume 2, they're likely doing the entire set over again. Also, the CinemaScope cartoons (except for the two Spike and Tyke shorts) have already been remastered during the Spotlight Collection days, though then again, it wouldn't hurt to give those cartoons fresh remasters as well.

Guys, with Vol. 1 re-released when can I expect Vol. 2, 3, 4 and so on? Surely they wouldn't make a re-release without plans of publishing the rest.

I just want it so much.

Is there any difference between the 2011 version of Volume 1 and the 2020 re-release from Warner Archive?

Lack of a booklet and slipcover, that's all.

Makes sense it was moved to Wish List, but can someone explain why they decided to make a reprint of Vol. 1?
