![]() ![]() Specifications: Projector: JVC X30 Scaler: Lumagen RadianceXD Screen: Lissau TrueColor 108" Amplifier: Simaudio Moon Evolution 600i v1 Blu-ray player: Oppo BDP-103 Speakers: DLS M66 DAC: Hegel HD25 Music server and player: Mac Mini with Roon Consoles: Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch Video streaming: Apple TV 4K I stopped using the receiver a while ago because of some very bad interference I was getting (a loud, low-pitched buzzing tone), which made it impossible to enjoy anything. The only thing that would make it go away was not using the receiver. Instead, I use analogue from the Oppo to the amp, while running more devices straight to the scaler, from where I have a coaxial cable going through one of the DACs. For a while, I had only one DAC, and switching between music server sound and scaler was really annoying, as the M1 doesn't have a remote. I originally sold my XRGB-mini to get an Open Source Scan Converter, but decided to spend that money on an extra, used M1 DAC, so now I don't have to get up from my couch to switch inputs ![]() Since my cable company stopped sending any sort of radio signal (converted from digital audio broadcast to analogue, so it had all the cool digital stations, but of course lacked the sound quality possible with a real analogue source) out, I'd been using iTunes on the Mac mini to listen to radio through the internet. This proved to be unreliable, and radio needs to be more convenient than having to turn on the peej to see what's wrong, so as I had the opportunity (financially speaking), I ordered the Pioneer N50A network streaming player. This model had just gone OOP, so I had to wait for the N50AE, which I was finally able to pick up yesterday. The phone app is a bit cumbersome, but I get the same quality radio stream as before, and I can fix whatever issue should turn up without having to turn on the projector. I spent the money originally meant for the OSSC on an extra DAC, but some recent luck (same thing that got me the top new 27" iMac with full RAM upgrade, fastest processor and 1TB SSD, a Herman Miller Aeron and the aforementioned Pioneer streamer) allowed me to pre-pay for one that should be here within a month-ish ![]() Old introduction in the spoiler below. Bought a new tuner today
![]() I hated the old one and this one matches my amplifier. It's only analogue but that's the only thing that comes out of my wall anyway. It was rather expensive, but I got a good price since I'm their most awesomest costumer (I wish ![]() ![]() Last edited by Naiera; 12-10-2012 at 05:28 PM. |

Now with better cabling, a fancy new shelf and some more of the acoustic stuff on the back wall. I really think doubling the area covered by that stuff today made a difference. The shelf holds about 420 anime dvd's.
