Any chance for Love Cheat Steal 1993? Was looking at picking it up, but no one has released this since the MGM DVD....which is more expensive then a BD.

Listen to Cock-A-Doodle Deux Deux with the commentary by Jerry Beck, you can hear the correct music (and the short's audio) in the background.

Great artwork on both Randolph Scott's titles. A must purchase for me!

I don't have this Bluray.
I meant, does this commentary come from old MGM dvd or is a new one for Kino?

edit: Ok, i listened to the old DVD. It doesn't have the commentary.
It's weird that MGM would provide Kino with an incorrect music opening on the cartoon, but the commentary would have the correct opening.
If it wasn't in the commentary as you say, I'd say that they did some new scans (other than the ones used for DVD), so that's why the mix-up.

Well, maybe they did a new scan of the cartoon with an incorrect music opening, but used the track from the old scan to do the commentary?
this is more like it.
Or, maybe there were 2 tracks with 2 different music openings for this cartoon.
One from the theatrical release and one from the TV release, and the TV one had the usual opening and the Bluray comes from the TV scans and not the theatrical scans.

Oh. No, the commentary is new for Kino, it was made for it as a matter of fact.

Is that the guy who keeps posting a long want-list, most of which are Universal titles that he keeps getting told aren't available to Kino?

Did I miss a deal with Paramount? Wouldn't Olive be the one to ask?

Actually WB is the one to ask, most of the key Paramount titles are under license to WB.

DUH! How could I forget that? The reason Olive came to mind first was because they released McLintock!.

But they did release lots of Paramount stuff and many other John Wayne films from the Republic library (Paramount).

If all this licensing stuff gives me headaches, I can't imagine how migraine inducing it is for you guys who actually have to try and sort it out.

I mentally checked off the Republic stuff as a separate package and never considered that as part of Paramount's library. My only thought was that they had access to McLintock which means they have access to all the post 50's John Wayne films Paramount has.

Now I am just left even more confused as to who has what.

Thanks for your insight MisterLime, I find it invaluable.

All this does is remind me why there are almost no Paramount catalog titles being released

I dream of a Kino-Paramount deal some day... I find this poster to be most appropriate:

McLintock is a PD title and originally part of the Batjac library (High and the Mighty, Seven Men From Now, Island in the Sky, etc) which Paramount acquired from John Wayne's estate after Michael Wayne's death.

Ignite remastered the PD film which was originally released by United Artists and licensed it to Olive a few years ago. Paramount released their own version a couple of years later, the PHE version was from the original film elements, so it should look much better.
