The flick is stuffed with clips from their various works (both pre and post Cannon) along with all sorts of interviews from folks like Elliott Gould, Dolph Lundgren and Franco Zeffirelli (Sadly no Chuck Norris).

If you can find it on disc (or it's ever released in the states) pick it up. You wont be sorry!

Warner will be releasing this 10 Film Cannon film DVD collection in September, and It includes the doc, Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films. Pretty cool looking set, though I wish they were BD's.

I own almost half the movies in that set, but I do not care. I want that set for the documentary alone, the movies I'll just look at as glorified special features.

I echo the sentiment though that I wish these were all blu. Most of these already exist in blu, and it would be a great time to announce the rest for blu release (Invasion USA especially, as there have been more than a few people asking for it).

If it's cheap enough I'd get it just for the documentary. I'll likely own all the movies on DVD already if not on bluray LOL

This might actually be a first for me. Purchasing a release just for a supplemental feature

How in the world Warner got Missing In Action and Invasion USA from MGM!

I wish they would do the ones that are not availble in Blu.

I want the doc on Blu.
I want Invasion USA, Bloodsport, The Hitman and Hellbound on Blu by them selfs!!!

I meant to mention it above, but the doc is getting its own DVD release too (9/29/15). Pretty cool cover:

Excellent news; figured it would only be a matter of time before a US release surfaced. And for a documentary, DVD is okay by me too.

I'd definitely buy BDs of The Hitman and Invasion USA.

Even a widescreen DVD for the former would be something new.

Electric Boogaloo will play theatrically on September 18th at the Sunshine Cinema in New York and the Landmark in Los Angeles (possibly for Oscar qualifying, as September 30th is typically the cutoff for documentaries). Tickets for the September 17th advance screening are on sale at Landmark Theatres' website.

As for a Blu-ray release, I imagine Warner Archive is your best bet. They posted Warner Bros.' announcement of a theatrical release on their Facebook page and there seemed to be demand from users for a Blu-ray. Since there will be an HD master from the DCP's, it can be done.

The Golan-Globus produced, Cannon distributed, Lou Ferrigno films are getting prepped for a release in the UK. These will most likely be locked to Region B, but it may bode well for eventual releases in North America.

Quote:
British distributors 101 Films will release on Blu-ray three films with Lou Ferrigno: Luigi Cozzi's Hercules (1983) and The Adventures of Hercules II (1985), and Enzo G. Castellari's Sinbad of the Seven Seas (1989). The three releases will be available for purchase on October 26.

Always enjoyed the extreme cheese that is Lou's Hercules films. Bought that MGM double feature DVD right when it came out. Never really saw Sinbad.

Umbrella Entertainment site shows only a DVD listing, as does retailer JB Hi-Fi

The Australian release is only on DVD. The sole Blu-ray edition worldwide so far is the German one.
