USA The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown - March 17, 2015 pre-order

The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown! Blu-ray

Warner is doing another Hanna-Barbera/WWE cross-over film. Earlier this year they released Scooby-Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery, next up is The Flintstones. It's titlted "The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age Smackdown, and will be released on March 17th, 2015. Yabba Dabba...Doo?

Synopsis

Quote:
Get ready for some raw-kin’ action in this all-new, original movie that brings some of WWE’s toughest, wildest superstars to Bedrock! When Fred loses his family’s vacation money, he hatches one of his hair brained plans to get it back. It’s a sports entertainment spectacle that involves throwing his best bud, Barney into the wrestling ring with the likes of John Cenastone (John Cena), Rey Mysteriopal (Rey Mysterio) and even The Undertaker, with Fred himself as event promoter! The crowds roar, the “clams” are pouring in from ticket sales and even Mr. McMagma (Vince McMahon) is taking notice of all the hoopla. Can Fred keep serving up bigger and badder matches or is he in for the rocky ride of his life? Including all-star appearances from The Boulder Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) Marble Henry (Mark Henry) and Daniel Bry-Rock (Daniel Bryan), it’s time to get the whole family together for a collection of hard-hitting, side-splitting laughs from the most epic event in all of prehistory!

Yeah, Fred is passable, but Barney sounds pretty terrible.

This is the voice cast:

Jeff Bergman as Fred Flintstone
Kevin Michael Richardson as Barney Rubble
Tress MacNeille as Wilma Flintstone
Grey Griffin as Betty Rubble
Nicole Garcia as Nikki Boulder
John Cena as John Cenastone
C.M. Punk as CM Punkrock
Bill Goldberg as Goldbolder
Brianna Garcia as Brie Boulder
Vince McMahon as Vince McMagma
Bryan Danielson

And yet, I fear not buying it, would only make the prospect of seeing any of the original series on BD an even more remote possibility...

I have a feeling the profits will be more about wrestling than they will be about the Flintstones.

Default WWE and Warner Bros. Announce Flintstones Crossover Film

I think it all started here...

"Although older WWE fans will likely respond to this announcement with a hard facepalm, this is the direction the WWE has been headed in for a long time. WWE is a family product that caters to a large audience of younger viewers. Young people and their parents are spending good money on WWE merchandise, so itís not likely the company will revert to its attitude era shenanigans anytime soon." (Source: WWE Corporate)

It does feel like a missed opportunity to not have The Rock in a Flintstones movie, but I'm sure it's because he was busy filming Fast and Furious 29.

I love the Flintstones and was excited to hear about a new TV movie. But the animation sucks big time and Barney's voice... I'll see it because I'm a fan of Hanna-Barbera, but I'm not very optimistic.

This looks awful. What a bad idea for a tie-in. And this is the way WB decides to bring back The Flintstones after a long absence?

I'm surprised they have Punk prominently in the trailer.

Yes. They look a bit squat and oddly shaped. Surprising, since Warner has done such a good job with keeping Scooby-Doo consistent.
