This could put paid to third and final Vincent Price Collection coming from Scream I imagine. Not just this of course, but the strong possibility that the remaining Price MGM titles will be grabbed by other companies before they get round to it.

Does Scream/Shout Factory have the exclusive use of the Vincent Price intros/outros from the Iowa PBS TV series? I wonder if either Arrow or Kino could access that footage for their respective Blu-rays?

I'm not sure, but they won't be on the Arrow release:

-The Directors: Roger Corman, an hour-long documentary on the filmmaker featuring contributions from James Cameron, Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard

-Cats in Horror Films, critic and novelist Anne Billson discusses the contributions of our feline friends to genre cinema

-The Black Cat, a 1993 short film adaptation of Poe’s classic tale directed by Rob Green (The Bunker)

-Kim Newman on Edgar Allan Poe, the novelist and critic looks at Poe’s influence on the big screen

Ill be getting the Kino version to support the USA, Im sure both studios will use the same MGM master.. extras to me aren't as important as a really good image on my TV screen. Kinos would have to look really awful for me to get the Arrow release. I want Kino to succeed so they can license more films from this era and earlier

Although I feel The Black Cat is the only outstanding part of the film, that alone makes it a must own. Vincent Price vs Peter Lorre in a wine-tasting battle is something that all people need to experience.

Not even close, compared to say, any omnipresent character actor that's been active in the last 20 years. As far as stars (as opposed to bit players who are in a zillion movies) of movies made before about 1980 go he might be up there. It's sort of a hard thing to judge since bluray.com counts all the individual editions of movies with people as separate releases (ex, it says Christopher Lee has 776 blu rays, while Vincent Price only has 168, but with Christopher Lee probably 400 of those are just various editions of LOTR), not to mention it only has the first several names in a cast.

Oh man, I'm buying the Arrow just for that Kim Newman interview. He's one of the greatest horror interview subjects out there, I like him just about as much as Guillermo Del Toro.

Yeah, this doesn't seem to bode well for a volume three, especially if they still can't get theatre of blood. Still, better to have it released than not.
