Nice, will pick this up for sure. Had Day Of Wrath on the 'to watch' list since my DVD days, will get it watched in 2015 for sure!

Great news, though I just ordered Master of the House (I think...) from BIOH. Got it at a good price so hopefully
can recoup if BFI do a good job.
Hopefully they'll have more nice surprises in store for 2015

So how's this... A situation where these movies have been restored recently? Or is it just like the Kurosawa box, that BFI just felt it needed to sell some discs during the holiday season, and put up a horrible mess of bad materials and poor authoring?

(and then bragged on facebook that is was among their top sellers!)

I wanted to get it, but it's defective: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=60

Really, didn't think this would be a shocker to anyone regular to the forums.

(I own the Seven Samurai steelbook however, so I did my part already into supporting them for a less than stellar release)

The BFI have a great track record, there's no reason to believe that the Dreyer set will have any problems. Other than the Kurosawas, I can't think of a bad BFI release that they haven't replaced?

Worth quite a bit on eBay by the way as the steelbook is now OOP. I sold mine and put it towards getting the Kurosawa Samurai Collection instead (which covered about half the cost).

From BFI:

High Definition premieres of world cinema classics are among the BFI’s DVD and Blu-ray releases for April-May. Highlights include a selection of feature films and shorts by the great Carl Theodor Dreyer; one of Akira Kurosawa’s most highly regarded dramas; and a collection of restored comedies from Charlie Chaplin.

Carl Th. Dreyer Collection (1925-1964) – a limited edition Blu-ray box set featuring award-winning classics Day of Wrath, Ordet, Gertrud and alternative presentations of Master of the House, as well as seven of Dreyer’s celebrated short films. Special features include Torben Skjødt Jensen’s fascinating 1995 documentary My Métier and extensive archival and outtake interview footage with those who knew and worked with the legendary director.

Yeah! Just saw this. It's gonna be priority even over the Rossellini set...in fact I may cancel that one and get it later in the year (unless there are some promising reviews up before it's released).

Dreyer, Kurosawa and Chaplin all getting pre-ordered I reckon!

OK so now, BFI are releasing my 2 most awaited releases of the year (so far, obviously).
When will they stop ?

Since this set is limited, if Criterion doesn't announce something similar beforehand I'm picking this up. Don't want to miss out. Same goes for the Rossellini set.

Wow this is great. Didn't know it was coming out.

I do wish the BFI box sets had sturdier outer boxes though.

I hope the packaging isn't remotely like their Herzog set. That's a prime example of a box set of brilliance let down by poor packaging. Ironic that the lesser quality Shout set had by far the sexiest packaging.

I kinda like it, it doesn't take shelf space and is very affordable.

I'd rather have paid a quid or two more and had thicker card on the slipcover to protect the fragile digipack. I hope they've taken note of this for the Dreyer set.
