Exclamation Spanish Label Resen are selling Bootlegs

Spanish Label Resen are selling bootleg/unauthorized copies of discs, many coming straight from BD rips of Twilight Time releases.

Twilight Time has confirmed that they are a bootleg label.

However, buying into this stuff only adds fuel to the studios' inherent decision-making to back away from catalogue as each every one of these sales likely deters a legitimate release.
Here are bitrate graphs between both labels releases of the same titles, courtesy of DVDbeaver:

Mysterious Island

Twilight Time:

Resen:

The Big Heat:

Resen:

Body Double

Resen:

Based on all of this, I believe All entries from Resen should be removed from this site so as not to promote/encourage this type of behavior. People are finding these releases in the DB here, and many are unknowingly purchasing bootlegs

Wow. Late to the party.

HTF has a thread about Resen that was started in July, 2013. (About suspect Spanish releases in general. Which subsequently pointed towards ReSen...)

Confirmation of Research Entertainment being bootleggers March, 2014.

Where has this site been?

It's been talked about for years actually, in the respective movie threads.

I don't support bootlegs and I encourage all to follow that path. It is up to the studios themselves to protect their rights. If the studios know...why have they not contacted Amazon Spain and made them remove the bootlegs?!

It has been speculated for a long time that this was happening...continues to happen. Sony and others better make sure their lawyers are earning their pay.

Well, here's an interesting tidbit of information. On the back of that cover it lists No. Expte. ICAA 129.535.

ICAA stands for El Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales or The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture that plans policies, film support and audiovisual production.

Here is the web site:

http://www.mecd.gob.es/403.html

If you go to this page you can download a spreadsheet of film, DVD, and Blu-ray releases:

http://www.mecd.gob.es/403.html

On the first tab, line 13192, it lists "Cardenal, El" with an expediente (record) number of 129535 (see above) and lists the distributor as, none other, "RESEARCH ENTERTAINMENT S.L." which is Resen.

In terms of Mysterious Island it's listed in the first tab, line 40148.

EDIT: Here's a document, in English, about the ICAA.
