That's good to know. The iTunes upload had the 2-part cut version of the pilot with part 2 erroneously in 16:9.

Small update: Play It Again Seymour now features the season 1 opening credits, whereas the DVD version had the opening credits for season 2. Hopefully this bodes well for future releases, that these are fully "corrected" and fixes any problems and oversights that crept into the DVD sets.

That all sounds quite promising. Here's hoping the music rights issues that variously affect certain DVD releases are ironed out in the Blu-Ray versions. If they are (season 4 is the only one really affected in PAL territories), I just might upgrade the whole lot.

I placed my first JB HiFi preorder for this the day before release and still haven't received a shipping notification. Is this normal?

I've only ordered from them once before, and it did take a week or so to ship because the item was backordered.

Is this region free? If region locked, I'm trying to remember if Oz is the same as the U.S.

Sweet. Now we just need someone to get an early copy to check the songs. I don't think I could bring myself to buy it if it's the butchered versions.

Episode 2 Disco Inferno would be the quickest. If there is no "Hustle" or other Disco songs from the era. That episode is even eliminated on Netflix because of all the music rights.. That's why I had to by Region 2 DVD's back in the day.

Pretty sure the original music is intact. I can hear "Hound Dog" and "Ooby Dooby" in Genesis, also "American Pie" in Star-Crossed. The audio is Dolby Digital 2.0 at 448Kbs.

Season 1 was always okay with the music clearance. Season 2 will be the real test.

I hope seasons 2, 3, and 4 are unaltered.

I have no issue with importing these, especially since the US distributor will most likely be Mill Creek, and they love cramming too many episodes onto one disc. Plus, with US music rights issues, who knows if Mill Creek could get the episodes unedited anyway.

I'd rather have the unedited Australian releases in hand than gamble on the US versions.

/for some reason, seasons 1 and 5 were unedited everywhere. 2 and 3 were fine in the UK and S4 was screwed up everywhere.

Anyone know if Season 2 is still getting released in June? It is still on Ezy DVD's site but no longer on Madman's site. It also hasn't been listed on JB Hi-Fi's site yet. JB Hi-Fi has also pulled all the seasons on DVD off their site except for season 1. So now it only lists the DVD and Blu for season 1.

For anybody interested in getting this. It's on sale until May 8th at JB Hi-Fi.

BTW: Some more comparison shots between DVD and Blu-Ray were posted on the TrekBBS-Forum:

Thanks for the heads-up! Their Buy One, Get One Free sale is still going on and I purchased this and the Beverly Hills Cop set for $39.44 shipped (don't forget about the exchange rate... $53.47 AU = $39.44 U.S.).
