Well... Apple hasn't made any announcement about UHD for iTunes movies/TV shows so I doubt that will happen. As for UV, mockups of UHD titles from Warner and Sony show UHD UV copies being included.

Is the UHD portion actually Ultraviolet, meaning it will go into your UV locker as UHD and be shared as UHD? I think the mockups I saw said digital UHD or Digital 4K or something to that effect, but did not specify UV.

Fox's 4K titles say digital HD on the cover, do we know what this means in practice, 4K or HD?

I've seen mockups from FOX and Warner Bros. that mention digital copies, but the UHD release covers I've seen from Sony have no mention of digital copies at all.

I'd be interested in seeing a Sony title mention a digital copy?

I've been wondering this myself. My gut feeling is they'll be 1080p copies. "Digital HD" sure sounds more like that than 2160p.

Ive just been reading up on 4K TVs and Blurays (UHD) for the best part of an hour , and there's nothing that suggests that we'll get ANY digital copy with physical UHD Blurays. Instead, there's something called 'digital bridge', and apparently it'll allow you to get a 'digital' copy of your Bluray on your external drives or smartphones. It wont be tied to a streaming service of any sort, whether thats iTunes or Ultraviolet

I'll be sticking with iTunes for the foreseeable, seeing as though 4K TVs and UHD Blurays are very expensive right now. I dont even have a Bluray player right now

I participate in both Reel Insiders (for Sony) and WBA Community (for Warner)... survey about 4K for Mad Max Fury Road UHD had questions about whether a UHD disc and digital UHD UV combo would influence my decision to buy. The packaging I saw for Hancock also mentioned UHD digital UV but that could be a fluke.

Then again, as Fox and others have proven... you could have UV enabled on one service but not another. So that would lock a title to a provider. Bend It Like Beckham HD UV is currently only available on Vudu. Can't watch that movie anywhere else despite it being in my UV locker.

I can confirm that for at least the Fox UHD's, the digital copies are the same ones you'd find in the Blu-rays. Even the inserts are the same. The back of the one for Kingsman has an ad for Taken 3 on Blu-ray.

That's really weak if true... UHD digital copies are in the $25-$30 range on VUDU. Seems like a real ripoff to buy the UHD disc and only receive the HDX version on digital.

UHD copies will ONLY include HDX as they do not include UHD digital rights

Exactly. At least most regular BDs include full HD digital copies, so it's the same resolution as the disc it came with.

They're asking people to either choose between digital UHD and UHD BD, or to buy both. Either way, that's not a good value.

The UHD on Vudu is solid, so that's really cool that you can redeem your codes in that quality. I bought Pacific Rim in UHD on Vudu, and it was quite an impressive showcase. The detail is amazing. I enjoy 3D, but I ultimately enjoy UHD even more.

So after reading this I decided I would go buy these movies in a multi pack (UHD+3D+UHD UV) but of course they don't package them that way. No way to purchase UHD and 3D without paying twice
So I check Vudu thinking I'll skip the discs if I can purchase a UHD, 3D combo but of course they don't have it like that either. Willing to pay their $30 or even $40 but I'm not paying $60

To make matters worse of course is the news that some of the major Tv manufacturers are stopping production of 3D capable panels. So like it or not 3D in the home is now going to become less and less of an option for people.

Could be a problem unless they get the glass less models perfected. Of course some are already importing the 3D blus but not sure about how to import 3D TVs

Did you redeem before they made the change and did you redeem on VUDU? You may have to contact them.
