Default UHD-BD Disc Size / Movie Size

I got a LG BH16NS55 PC drive which ran read the UHD-BD file structure and wanted to start this thread in order to collect information about disc and movie sizes of UHD-BD releases.
Video Bitrates over 60 Mbps are marked green and under 40 Mbps marked red. Note that low bitrates don't automatically result in a bad picture quality, it's heavily dependend on the source material and encoding process.

Hopefully some of the review sites and caps-a-holic.com get that one of these machines soon to see what we are getting for bitrate.

Pretty sure the bitrate is blocked by the DRM.

Well you can still get the average bit rate from the movie file, and extrapolate the video bit rate based on the included audio files and get it accurate to within a mbps or two. For peak bit rate I guess someone over on the other side of the pond can watch it on their Panny UHD player and see how high it goes. That would be fun.

Really? I thought that we exclusively use that on our own in Germany.
I just checked and it seems like D, DE, BRD, FRG or GER is possible.
Because we are on the internet right now and .de is the top level domain, I just changed it.

Fox could of just used a 50GB blu-ray disc to put the UHD on...

That's not my idea of fun.

Yeah I don't know why they would master The Martian this way...
I now ordered every single UHD disc available in Germany, more titles are coming soon.

Blu-ray.com finally added BD info for 4K Blu-ray.

I fixed all 4K Blu-ray reviews. Some reviewers gave them 100-GB discs.

I think animation is not as demanding on bit rate as is live action? Anyway the important thing is how good it looks and Lego Movie looks very good.

Another point is that it's only 100 minutes. The Martian is 150 minutes so actually that movie will have a lower bitrate.

That's actually a good point, haven't thought about that.
Regardless it's a shame that not every release has maxed out capacity. I mean, a higher bitrate does not hurt.

Also many releases only have german DTS sound instead of DTS-HD or TrueHD or even Dolby Atmos/DTS:X even though the disc has ~10 GB free capacity left

Yeah no reason for that. An Atmos layer only takes up an extra gig or two.

Can't tell yet. My Hisense H65MEC5550 and Samsung UBD-K8500 have some handshake issues on the HDMI 2.0 HDCP 2.2 ports, I get no signal.
I'm currently running it from one of the HDMI 1.4 ports -> 1080p and no HDR.
