This list will contain Blu-rays with exclusive IMAX aspect ratio switching scenes, shown only in IMAX theaters. The list is small unfortunately, but each new Blu-ray is a gift.

Regular Blu-ray only. 4K titles in the 4K UHD forums.

Added Guardians. Is Tron 3D only or both 2D & 3D?

I believe Tron has VAR on both 2D and 3D, but I'd have to go home and check. I think the screenshots on this site show it opened up on the 2D disc.

As for STiD, the 4K release comes with the Compendium discs, which feature the IMAX AR, so I figured it might be worth including for that reason.

Ghostbusters 3D might be the next release to keep an eye on...

EDIT: There's also a Chinese film called Mojin, Well Go USA's BD for it opens up.

If you or somelse could check, that would be nice. As for STiD: nah, adding it again feels like a duplicate. For 4K Blu-ray, I created a topic on the 4K forums.

Do you want this one on the list?

The bonus disc features all IMAX scenes; remastered and in OAR.

I know, that's why I left a blue note on list.

I can confirm for Tron in a few hours, but I'm 99% sure it's both 2D and 3D. I just haven't played that disc in years

Don't think the TDK UE release counts, as the IMAX sequences are just a bonus feature. The actual movie discs are the exact same ones you've already listed (and you're anti-duplicates ).

BTW, in case you missed it after I edited my post, there's a Chinese movie called Mojin with a US release from Well Go USA that features VAR for its IMAX sequences.

I second that. Tron Legacy definitely alternates on the 2D disc (including the tremendous Arena sequence, opening when Sam goes up through the elevator and having to face the Disc War game, with the boisterous Daft Punk cue blasting through).

I wonder if Batman v Superman will ever get a re-release with the IMAX scenes. Was it Snyder's choice not to keep them or the sutdio's?

Yeah that's what I remembered, but I wasn't sure if I was remembering it from watching the 2D or 3D disc. That movie is due for a rewatch.

Right. If I remember the IMAX sequences are as follows:

When the Regonizer shows up in the street until Sam goes down the shaft to get his disc.

When Sam enters the arena until he is brought to Clu.

The entire lightcycle battle.

When Sam is on the sail barge.

When they show Clu's ship heading toward the escape point.

The entire aerial battle and ending sequence until they get back to the real world.

So what is the final word on Tron Legacy, guys?

Next title to keep an eye out for: Sully (Tom Hanks)

I posted above when TRON: Legacy shifts. It is same for both the 2D and 3D discs.

I also noticed you are missing Biutiful. The film begins and ends in 2.39:1 while the rest of the film is in 1.85:1.

Life of Pi is another one to add. Most of the film is in 1.85:1, but there is a sequence in 2.39:1 and another in 1.33:1. This is for both the 2D and 3D presentations.
