Default From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) (20th Anniversary Edition) coming in 2017

Based on the stuff posted below, the 20th Anniversary of FDTD will arrive on Blu next year. Presumably remastered and as part of LG's Vestron Video line.

Also, confirmed by Rodriguez.

Shouldn't be part of the Vestron line, it's a Dimension/Miramax title. Let's hope they can find good enough elements to create a 4K disc.

Definitely a title that will benefit from a new scan.

Oh, nice, I hadn't gotten around to upgrading it because I could never figure out what (if any) was the "good" release. I also wanted a copy with "Full Tilt Boogie". Now I can just wait.

I actually hope Miramax actually gives Lionsgate the elements to create a 4k remaster. Miramax was able to provide better elements to Scream and Lionsgate for the Halloween films so this shouldn't be an issue.

I ended up buying that ancient special edition DVD for all the extras, since the blu-ray ditched them all. Here's hoping they include them this time, so I can get rid of both old discs!

99.99% of us would immediately check the quality of this hypothetical new scan with a particular scene

The commentary between Rodriguez and Tarantino made for the original laser disc is the most entertaining I have ever heard..for those who feel shorted by the fact that Tarantino doesn't regularly do these, they couldn't possibly be better than the one he did here. It feels like your watching this fun flick with a couple of true film geeks..
If they port it with a new scan I'll be buying this film for the fifth time..

If this is right, then we can expect a lot of good things for the Miramax catalog from Lionsgate in the future.

I'd be happy with a audio overhaul. I love the movie but the audio always sounded kind of muddy to me, like some explosions sounded more like a burst of air or something.

I'm excited for this though. I watch it like once a year.

Hopefully Rodriguez pushes them. He should, he's a tech geek like us. I remember working in QC when Spy Kids 3 came through on DVD, and how much my boss tried working on the SD elements to push the 3D. We got it, it because progressive encoding was standard for DVD we couldn't do it. (It involved a tweaking of of the color space within the alternate video fields.)

Day one buy. Will add it to Chopping Mall and ROTLD3. Can finally get rid of that cheap version I have.

If it's in the Vestron line, it'll be great with a new scan and special features.

I haven't been keeping track, but do any of their releases besides Chopping Mall contain a relatively new scan? CHUD 2 is clearly ancient garbage so I figured Lionsgate just didn't give a shit. I won't be supporting Vestron releases for long unless they put some real effort into it. Hopefully CHUD 2 is just a one-off.

I'd buy if there's an image improvement and if full tilt boogie is included, I originally opted for the single disc release for the "better" pq over the 4 pack
