Default Custom Built Shelves for Steelbook/Movie Collection

People seemed to like my shelves so I'll post some more complete pictures.

I really wanted something sturdy to house my collection, but didn't take up too much wall space or room. I decided to build shelves that acted as doors to a closet in the spare bedroom. I designed and built these shelves myself. They are double sided and the shelves were made to be able to hold both DVDs and Blu-rays. Along with a few shelves for larger editions.

First Door-Shelf built and checked for level

First Door-Shelf mounted to stationary shelf

Testing how well it opens

Second Shelf-Door mounted

Filling it up with steelbooks

Both "Doors" open

Regular Blu-Rays

If you don't mind can you list the materials you used? And very nice. I need to build some when I get the time. If I do I think I might stain them as well. They look great though.

It's incredible. Excellent job.

Do you make house calls? You should start a business building these things.

Yeah, that's what I thought the first time I saw this. I might put a little lip on the front of the shelves...

You couldn't close them quick enough to knock anything off if you tried. They are HEAVY!

Just bought these LED strip lights. They are cheap, bright and motion activated and turn on automatically when I open the the cabinet doors. You can set them to stay on for 1 or 3 minutes and then they turn off automatically!

The kit comes with two strips that can be attached together and although my custom cabinet is long i only needed to buy 3. Great value for the price I think and now it's easy to peruse through my collection at night! My movies aren't alphabetized so it's vitally important to have lights!!

I just realized this was not the general forum for storage solutions. Sorry!
