So, they're lying? Why? And how do you know this?

Well, technically it's indeed HD by resolution, but not native HD. At least they supposedly posted about this on Facebook. So it's not directly lying, but of course "completely in HD" would imply a proper scan of a high quality element to obtain real HD information from it. If true I'd call it very unfair advertisment. If you are not referring to native HD the statement is completely pointless as every BD contains HD material no matter what source it is coming from and besides everyone can upscale a lower quality video by himself.

To quote Star Wars

"I did tell you the truth, from a certain point of view"

Is the Nameless versions just mediabook, some extras or the bust, compared to the KC Amaray release. I only really need the film. Apologies if I missed this info somewhere.

Unrated scenes will NOT be in native HD.

quote Nameless on fb:

"the inserted scenes are very short and have been inserted and adjusted from a good quality SD source, unfortunately those scenes are not available in HD, like in the case of Shootfighter. we are very content with the result..."

That's what we expected. They just shouldn't have said 'COMPLETELY in HD' as that was very misleading. The censored footage is only 5 secs so hopefully the switch won't be too distracting.

I have the German Disc now.
Its the same Source as the Echo Bridge Disc. But it has better encoding, is sharper and they worked on the Colors. The Red Push from the Echo Bridge Blu Ray is almost gone.

Little Comparison between the US and German Blu Ray:
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/214846

As you can see: Sharper, better Colors, better Encoding.
Yes a new HD Scan would have been better but for this movie?
Financial Suicide

The Unrated Footage is more than 5 Seconds but the Quality is acceptable for the short inserts.
Here are 2 Screenshots (click on it to make them big):

Im ok with the Disc.

It's probably about as good as we can expect without a new master.

So all of the footage missing from the Echo Bridge version has been reinstated?

So aside from the packaging, are the Koch Media and Nameless Media releases identical?

Awesome. Thank you.

I'm hesitant to purchase the Koch Media because I have a gut feeling that someone like Arrow or Indicator will release this eventually and i've already got the Echo Bridge. Sooo, if that were to happen it would make it a triple dip. A triple dip on Fortress Pretty sure that would make me crazy. Mmm. What to do...

A Few questions:
Region locked, correct?
Digibook? all images here are not showing up because of photobucket.

I dont see halos.
So for me i dont care why it looks sharper as long as i cant see the usual edge enhancement halos.
I think the better encoding also helps with that it seems to be sharper.

It certainly looks better than the US.
New Scan would have been better.
But at least they did something with the existing one.

I think it looks good, doesn't look sharpened artificially to my eyes at all, I was worried when I read that above so phew! It's far better encoded though, and that gives it a much more defined image, with better colour too. Btw, can you watch the theatrical cut without the SD inserts or is including them the only option?

My order is due to arrive tomorrow anyway, so I can't wait to watch it as it's been on my wish list for years after missing out on the US release.

I agree - It looks sharper but not artificially sharpened. Definitely a huge improvement now that disgusting red push is gone. The new encode seems to have made the best of the available master. Not sure it will look any better until someone does a new scan.

EDIT:
Comparisons now up on caps-a-holic
