It does fit the Disney / BVHE pattern. Moana came out theatrically on 11/23/16 and hit home video on 3/7/17. Coco came out theatrically on 11/23/17, and the closest Tuesday to 3/7/18 is the day prior (3/6/18).

Presumably Disney believes that a much lower percentage of the public than the industry average are going pass on seeing their Thanksgiving tent-pole films at cinemas in favor of waiting it out for home video, so they can shrink the theatrical window down to 3 months on those movies without losing any significant revenue. By the time 14 weeks have passed it will be grossing under a million a week, presuming that Coco tracks identically to Moana at the box office.

Took my kids this weekend and it really is something special. The scope of it definitely rewards the large screen.

saw it on a 65 foot 'widescreen' screen yesterday and it looked staggering!!

I don't think I'll be getting a chance to resee this again til it's bluray/UHD release, but I'm looking forward to hearing the Spanish language version which is incidentally getting released as such to select cinemas nationwide with English subtitles.

Best Buy Canada has a link for 3D (in the description).

It's not available for order, but the French version is. So, who knows? After Cars 3, I'm pretty much preparing to import.

Finally saw Coco and I loved it.

It was beautiful, great escapist/world building film, great music and very thought-provoking.

It doesn't have the writing of other Pixar movies (probably the dumbest written twist villain in any animated movie ever), but still, I can't wait to pick this up.

Another confirmation on the release date is Target's exclusive digibook, which also shows 2/27/18 as its release date.

Good thing I got the Target pre-ordered during their 15% off cyber Monday deal.

.I went to see this over the holidays, and what a beautiful film it was. It was my first Disney/Pixar Animation to go see in theaters in over 10 years. A lot of the characters reminded me of people in my family and even looked like some of my ancestors.

I can't wait to own this, a first day purchase for sure.

Now what's with the "Multi-Screen Edition" on the Blu-ray? Is this something all disney blu-ray covers will have from now on? I saw Lady and the Trump's cover for the upcoming "Walt Disney Signature Collection" edition and it had the same sticker!

Kinda hoping that MA banner on the bottom won't be on the digibook's cover. The J-card maybe, sure. Hopefully not the actual cover.

I'm guessing that's a translation (See "How do I make a Mexican papercut?"), but it definitely seems official otherwise, and it looks like quite a nice slate.
Also, over thirty minutes of cut/earlier-production scenes. Color me impressed.

Looks like a decent selection of extras, certainly enough to warrant the second BD as seen in the Target-exclusive listing.

The second BD is not a Target exclusive though, most Pixar releases always come with a second disc of bonus material.

I wasn't saying that the bonus disc was exclusive to Target, but merely observing that the image of the Target-exclusive version proves that the second BD actually exists.

Given that a relatively recent Pixar release (The Good Dinosaur) only got a single-BD release, I thought it was worth pointing out.

Truly hoping those Multi-Screen logos are just stickers. They're real eyesores and take away from the artwork.
