This list will contain 4K Blu-rays that have been DNR'd (Digital Noise Reduction). Some titles have been mild DNR'd here and there, where the rest of the movie was untouched. Please also check the separate topics per movie for more info as well.

Feel free to suggest to more titles.

The Dark Knight too. Chamber of Secrets.

Also, this thread can be a bit problematic, because there are many more releases with DNR, but it's application is subtle, so the result isn't damaging. For example, The Gladiator has DNR too.

Is there a cutoff for really obvious stuff, or are we including titles as long as it's noticeable? Because if it the latter you'd have to add The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Risers, Interstellar and Inception too.

I'm thinking it might be useful to include comments or ratings on severity and frequency. E.g. on a 5-point scale the DNR in Batman Begins would be severity 5, and frequency maybe 2. Meanwhile The Dark Knight would be frequency 5 (because it's there pretty much constantly), but instead severity maybe 2.

i totally agree: better with a brief note per disc explaining severity and frequency (maybe linking some examples?) ... that would help choosing if a title is to buy or not... i'd add Grease also anyway

I don't think Gladiator has DNR. I think some of the film elements were just not great.

Grease should be on this list.

Gladiator definitely has DNR. In places where remastered BD doesn't have it.

I haven't seen Paramount one, but people say Universal provides the transfer, so I don't know...

In the case of T2 it's more like DNR that contains UHD.

This essentially puts Batman Begins in the same tier as The Dark Knight, which I am not okay with. These listings should be reserved for titles with excessive DNR.

Agreed. Same goes for "Chamber Of Secrets", US "Gladiator" (should at least link to a Universal release for now imo) and maybe even "Underworld". Rather misleading otherwise imho.

Van Helsing? really? I didn't realize that. Same for Underworld. That said, I sure didn't notice that much more detail on the 4k. I'll have to check out the blurays again...

We need some sort of scale or something. Gladiator, with it's few seconds worth of DNR, is not in the same league as T2.

This is a very problematic thread. I agree it should be categorized in some way.

How about divided (not by alphabet), but by severity?

I finally got around to rewatching Peter Jackson's King Kong last week and noticed a lot in it. Severity and frequency varies. Feel free to chip in.

Agreed on a scale. The list should have sections such as: Heavy DNR, Moderate DNR, and Light DNR.

Changes made to the OP. Not sure if everything are in the right categories. Like Obilvion for example. Moderate or heavy?
