Original Django will be relased in 4K by Soul Media. No further details yet apart from it will be based on "recent" 4K transfer, has Nordic language subtitles and the release date is sometime in January. Based on the artwork it might only have UHD BD disc not standard BD. Soul Media is known for releasing cheapo or back catalogue movies and usually you might describe their releases as cheap and low quality .

I'm not saying it'll be better than the Arrow by the way, I have no idea. I'm saying I'm happy I got big bucks for the removed from sale Arrow Django before an alternative came along.

I would be more confident with a plain BD release of Django by Soul Media because already some EU based smaller companies have shown the difficulties to get a UHD even to a near flawless level. Don't Soul Media really do a BD release only?

There will be a standalone DVD and blu-ray releases as well. The release date from what I've gathered is now Feb 15th or so. Things might change as we all know. Haven't seen this movie but will buy and watch it immediately if Soul Media gets around to release this one in 4K.

Thanks for the info! I will be getting this in BD or UHD depending on quality. But as you, I will be getting this release ASAP though it would be more than amazing if there would yet again occure any rights-issues as Arrow had in the USA (they had to withdraw it and only some preorders were honored).

Oh, did not know that! I actually asked from the Soul Media just a moment ago by e-mail when the release date for Django is and the answer was "We have release on this title for all formats 24 January." , I am just really curious why I cannot find any preorders anywhere at least for the UHD. The blu-ray is available for preorder on one site that I know of.

It also says:

Whatever, I'm giving this a try. I'm well aware of the fact that the (unavailable) Arrow release may be/most likely is better, but I refuse to/try to avoid to buy Arrow's 4K remaster Blu-rays anyway.

Also R2 PAL so perhaps back cover is just wrong or sloppily designed. Running time is 91 min which suggests 23.976/24.000 fps transfer.

Dolby got kinda particular about logos and branding a few years back so this could also just be a fast way of avoiding any issues by being super generic about it.
