Jungle Cruise (2021) [No 3D Blu-ray]

I would 10000% buy this if it was released only in a premium Japanese 3D format, the movie is excellent with very good 3D and there’s so few 3D releases these days I’d rather have 5-10 excellent titles a year at $80 than nothing at all.

Also, I hope we can stop putting these ‘no 3D Blu-ray’ titles on unannounced movies, especially for studios that still do have some level of 3D Blu-ray support. While I’m sure what happens on these forums probably has no bearing on what happens with the releases, I feel like we’re at the stage of 3D blu-ray’s lifespan now where we need to give every movie every chance it can get. I’m just imagining some executive hearing about the sudden influx of calls and emails about 3D and stumbling on threads like this and thinking ‘we’ll, it seems like they’re already resigned to it’. Either way, I just think there’s something about ‘no 3D Blu-ray’ that gives off the wrong message about our desire for it compared to ‘3D Blu-ray TBC’.

That's a good point. I certainly appreciate this kind of information in the thread title, but if a film has even a sliver of a chance of making it, I'd rather not jump the gun.

Pretty sure the listings on that site are speculative. If people want to see this on 3D Blu-ray, we should keep emailing or calling Disney. When I emailed about Black Widow I specifically mentioned Jungle Cruise as well. I’d love to at least see this on MovieNEX 3D.

Yes, this is an very old pure speculative listing from the time Disney released every 3D blockbuster movie except smaller titles like "nutcracker and the four realms"...

Got an extremely quick answer.
Went to read it and surprise surprise: the answer was entirely about Disney+. Probably sent by an AI bot.

We have to be absolutely realistic here. They did not use the MovieNext Option to sell us this for a premium price: means 99,999% no 3D Blu-ray for "Jungle Cruise". It is only hoping to win the lottery jackpot yet... Will not happen...

Hmmm... I think we can rule out Japan for this release. I'm hoping some other region still might have it I hope. If this doesn't get a 3D blu-ray release... I'll watch it free on Disney plus on Nov. 12. I hope Shang Chi has a better news. What a sad day indeed.....

Only good news is that they will wonder why Black Widow sold so much especially outside of Japan and why no one bought the Jungle Cruise. I mean who in the right mind would get the 4K version for $80? Hopefully they will have figure it out by the next time .. maybe Eternals might have a chance. I'm nervous about Shang Chi... it will be the first MCU movie I won't own and don't plan to own if they don't release the 3D version of it.

I briefly wondered if Disney releasing a title’s 3D Blu-ray depends on that title crossing a certain box office threshold, except that Onward got a 3D Blu-ray despite having the same budget as Jungle Cruise and grossing much less.

More simply, Disney has likely dropped 3D Blu-Ray support for everything except the MCU.

While I do hope there is a 3D+4K pack soon along with the newly put up 4K+HD packs, if we don't get it, I think it's safe to say that we'll only get MCU films on 3D Blu-ray. Anyways I sent Disney Japan a message requesting for a 3D release. Fingers crossed.
