Default Will we get Columbia Classics 3?

With the Columbia Classics Volume 2 close to release I am curious if we are going to get a volume 3.

When did we vote for the films in Volume 2? Isn’t it about time we get to vote again?

Yes -- but to sum it up to prevent pages and pages of useful repetition

they'll choose all teh wrong movies -- what were they possibly thinking, the movies will be too old so who cares, the movies will be too new to be classics, the price will be too high, they not release them individually fast enough, the box will look all wrong, it will be listed wrong on every website, it won't be listed fast enough or in enough places, it won't ship fast enough, the preorders will be too late being listed, we won't have enough information about the blurays or which countries they be in, this one won't have digitals, that one won't have slipcovers, the other one will have the wrong size cases, yet the other one will have digital copies so will be wasting money with something nobody wants, it will be too heavy for shipping, it won't have enough and it's too light, there won't be enough bonus material, there's too much junk on the movies, and as always the cover art will suck b/c it's not the original art work and it will suck b.c it's just the same old boring original art.

What have I missed

Voting was done well before Vol 1 released and wasn't repeated prior to Vol 2.

You missed: The box is too large and will take up too much room on my shelf unit.

One of these days I will track down when the entire earth ran out of shelf space. Absolutely something I took for granted seems to be a modern day plague and I can't seem to go more than a thread or two without reading about this apparently unending problem that afflicts 99% of the World Population.

I guess they ran out of shelf space before recording the 13th Labour of Hercules and it's only been handed down orally in the millenia since.

I went through my whole childhood oblivious to this serious affliction which has spread to 6 of the continents so far. I suspect if Penguins had thumbs or longer legs they would need more too. Though come to think of it I have been reading more and more about the Shelfs collapsing and falling into the sea due to global warming, so sooner rather than later even the Penguins will run out of shelf space apparently. Too bad, that probably means no 4K editions of Happy Feet, Surf;s Up, or any new Attenborough Ice documentaries

Sony put out a few surveys about two years ago and they have pulled some of their recent 4K releases (some single and some in these boxed sets) from these. Track down the survey choices (somewhere in these forums) and you’ll have a good idea of what may be on the horizon.

Wut? My shelves are deep enough to accommodate these boxes sideways instead of flat against the back, but in what world was shelf space for movies in general ever not a concern. The Blu-ray Association were buttholes for not using CD-like cases. Much more compact and neat looking. Easier to replace. Probably cheaper and better for the environment too. They must think we all live in big houses to come up with cases so uselessly tall and often thick.

The fated time will tell applies... We'll see. Probably. If you had to guess. The odds are in it's favour. If the stars align. It could be in the cards. They may leave it all on the table.

Etc.

It might not be the best Harryhausen , but 'Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" was the first one I saw in the theater.

No, there won't be. Volume 2 was canceled in fact. Time to pack it up!

If it comes out before a standalone Lawrence of Arabia, I'm going to lose my goddam mind.

It might not be the best but it had a youthful Jane Seymour and her gorgeous heterochromia eyes.

The Volume 2 poll was last August, but by then Vol 1 had already been out for a couple months. I don't anticipate Sony will put out a poll for Vol 3 until they see how well Vol 2 sells.

You joke but this is obviously based on truth. What if people do have legitimate complaints over these sets? We're the consumers and we have the right to criticize or debate a purchase or they don't get our money. That's how these things work.

Here's what's in Volume 3:
  • It Happened One Night (1934)
  • On the Waterfront (1954)
  • Kramer vs Kramer (1979) or Tootsie (1982)
  • The Last Emperor (1987)
  • Awakenings (1990)
  • As Good As It Gets (1997)
