It might depend which cartoons are on there. Keep in mind the first Popeye set only had 14 shorts.

Cartoons that have aged better; Cellbound, Rock-a-bye bear, One Hams Family. Now if this set doesn't included ones like these, we might get lucky and have a Vol. 4.

But cartoons with content that haven't aged well; Uncle Tom's Cabana, Half-Pint Pygmy, Droopy's Good Deed. If ones like these are not on here, good chance whatever's left off will never see the light of day and this is the last one.

Blitz Wolf
Happy-Go-Nutty
Henpecked Hoboes
Uncle Tom's Cabana
Little 'Tinker
What Price Fleadom
Lucky Ducky
Droopy's Good Deed
Millionaire Droopy
Cat's Meow

These all have been edited or banned on TV. The last two of course are just the remakes. If all but any of these aren't on here, were outta luck.

these were ALREADY released prior, in UNCUT form on RETAIL dvds.....
there is NO WAY that these 2 shorts would be left out from these Archive Blu-ray's, aimed at collectors....

I would approach the release cautiously until we get any info from Jerry soon. We have no clue if this was done by the previous crew or of it consists of HBO Max restorations. (My genuine guess is that it is done by the previous crew because if they did Max restorations it would've been out sooner since those don't take long to do and they're usually done in bulk.)

Either way this adds to the good news of George returning a few days ago, I think WAC is going to have a better future than we thought a few months ago.

I'm concerned that George may have rushed it out with the bad restorations because he thought if he didn't it wouldn't come out at all. And it's too far in the pipeline now to change that.

And honestly who can blame him?

There's definitely not 27 shorts listed on the back of that case. I'm thinking maybe 22?

Well the WAC Facebook said they were working on it back in January.

Yeah, with the “new” restoration team. So since it’s ready now it sadly looks quite likely that they stuck with that team.

Youre kidding right? 8 months later? Theres no way they didnt get the old team back with that much time. Anyway, I will be very sad if rockabye bear and king size canary are not on this volume.

You’re nuts if you think 20+ shorts being properly restored and mastered in that amount of time is a no brainer. The disc is already done, and since essentially all the staff were laid off months ago, that means it’s been ready and in the release queue for months. So cut your 8 months down to 5 at least. And the restoration team was miraculously able to return immediately despite not being able to before?

If they’ve pulled this off, it’s a miracle and it’s due to George being incredibly committed to getting this release completed prior to what he rightfully knew could have been the end for WAC.

We do not know that. Don't assume anything because we don't even have any screengrabs from the set yet.

And Vol. 1 came out, roughly 5 months after the 3rd Popeye the Sailor 1940's volume, and we had no clue of Vol. 1's existence until 1 month prior to release. Same situation falls on Vol. 3, it's pretty likely the old staff is back since Jerry himself said they'd be involved on the next volume after the criticism of Vol. 2 on Stu's Show.

But also we can't just assume this or that because all we know are release dates and cover art, nothing will be known until Jerry reveals what's on it, either on Stu's Show, on Facebook, or it'll be revealed on some digital store.

I think it'll be 25. They had intended 25 for Volume 2 but since the pandemic and HBO Max restorations cut them with some unusable shorts they were left with 21.

And it would just leave the Michael Lah droopy shorts and the cinemascope remakes on the chopping block. Someone I know counted 24 on the back but, we don't know for sure.

I recently saw the news about 3, can we still hope for the Vol. 1-esque restorations?

Great news! Hopefully we'll have an official announcement with content details very soon. Regardless, I'm in without hesitation.

Furthermore, how are we supposed to learn from the past and do better, if we're not even allowed to know what the past is?

Its great news regardless at least they're following through with the restorations. Will it be complete? We can hope.

Judging by the back cover of the case, I think I can read some of the cartoons on the back. I see that there is a bonus feature on the disc. I can see “Blitz Wolf”, “Swing Shift Cinderella”, “Slap Happy Lion”, “Deputy Droopy”, “Cellbound”, “Henpecked Hoboes”, “Half-Pint Pygmy” (I THINK. NOT SURE.), “Northwest Hounded Police”, “Lucky Ducky”, and “The Early Bird Dood It”. Again this is assumptions reading from the pixelated text. We can only wait until the official announcement.
