Default should i wait for Star War on Blu?

i think it's gonna be a long while til Lucas release Starwar series on Blu.
sighs...should i just settle for DVD instead? I could wait for Indiana Jones because the new one will come out soon after the movie and they could have the whole collection on Blu.
=| what ya think? someone should blackmail George and force him to release Star War on Blu

Dude we are all waiting for Star Wars on Blu!

Get the DVDs and a PS3 and watch them upscaled or buy Sky HD and wait for them to go on there.

I had the HD Saga that was shown on Sky New Years last year on there for like 8 months, but had to delete them to make space as it was over 60% gone! (

the only reason i would ask because even though they're on dvd, they're still expensive just like new release movies. $15 each, 6 of those would run me $90. I'm a big fan of the series but and broke at the same time lol

I agree.....

I guess you didn't buy movies before Blu-Ray???? I guess I thought everyone purchased these when they came out

I have just the 3 that matter, and they look pretty good up-scaled, but I'm waiting for the blu-treatment as well. I may not upgrade ALL of my DVDs, but these are a MUST

George Lucas has us all by the you know what. We will all buy every release he puts out and we will all complain. That is just the way it is. I will of course upgrade. I just hope once they go BLU he releasea complete box set with all six movies, and all cuts of all the original trilogy, much in the vein of the Blade Runner 5 discer.

Ha, I'm in the middle of cleaning out my dvd collection to take to f.y.e. gonna do some store credit for more blu's. All 6 star wars went in the Go pile. My lord of the rings went too, keepin my extended editions though.

I'd say go for the DVDs if you're a Star Wars fan

I bought the DVDs when they were first released.

I bought them again when they re-released them with the original versions as well.

The non-anamorphic sucks, but who knows how long before George approves another release of the original (if he ever does) so I figured it was worth it.

Oh, and I'd pick up the 3 prequels on DVD too before he goes changing those (ie a digital Yoda in Episode I - which I'm not personally against, but I still want the original)

Yeah, I need to cleanup my dvd collection. BTW, love the cat avatar, first time I saw that....

The bigger question, will we get the unedited version of IV, V, and VI ? I bought the dvd tin a while back at best buy, it has the original movies without the changes, while he do the same in blu-ray? And this time will he update the aspect ratio and sound?

anyone remember how long it took for the first 3 to even come out on DVD back in the day? how many VHS versions did we have to put up with before he decided to finally release them on DVD years after the format had been fully adopted. damn that George Lucas... Oh well, we'll impatiently wait and continue to ***** about it.

yep, had to wait a loooong time. I have both version on VHS, updated and original. I'm not going to hold my breathe that's for sure. Till then, I'll watch the up converted original cuts of the movies.

Wasn't the whole reason Lucas took so long for DVD was because he wanted to jump straight to HD? After years of that not happening, he conceded and put them on DVD. I had hoped he would have moved a little quicker considering the format he was so anxious about is here!

I don't remember his reason. I do know that I saw on the amazon / blu-ray site that you can sign up to be notified via email when they are announced for a blu-ray.

I've waited so long already I might as well...

Plus every so often they are shown on television just like the Bond films so that feeds my Star Wars addiction from time to time.
