looking for best receiver for ps3 - Blu-ray Forum

I am looking to buy a receiver that will be used by my ps3for blu rayand ps3 games.I do not need an expensive one,just one that is simple and pretty decent price.Any help will be appreciated.Speakers i have is the polk audio 6750 set.

You have a few options..

Yamaha v663
Sony DG720
Sony DG820
Marantz SR4001
Denon 2308CI.. Since you don't need codecs...

There is a start for you..

Any Onkyo reciever, at least Onkyo 605.

I had an onkyo 605 but it's now in heaven

I have got the 663 and its a sweet sounding receiver.....lots of stuff to mess with.

Go with a Yammy 663 and have no regrets.

Since the PS3 decodes internally, I would get the Denon AVR-888.

I'd say the Denon or the Marantz are my recommendations...... SQ is more pleasing to me with these. Yammy isn't bad either.

Probably the best deal on a reciever under $600 is the Onkyo 805. If you are wondering, people have had great experiences here at the fourm with Ecost. It also comes with a one year warantee from Onkyo. It is also an Onkyo certified reseller.

Great decision, I think you'll be very pleased. I've had SEVERAL AVRs, and currently have two Marantz's they're great.

Onkyos are pretty hot...you can put microwave popcorn bags on receiver housing and it will be ready for eating within minutes.
