That's the main reason I prefer Dawn; it's just better focused. |

The problem I have with Dawn is that within the first 20 minutes it's pretty clear how the whole thing is going to play out, with the plot being based on some tropes that I find pretty tiresome.
It's still a good film but it's my least favourite of the three. |

Dawn is still my favorite of the three (even though the third act is a bit awkwardly structured) but War is a very impressive picture, despite some pacing/tonal issues. I actually gave the latter another watch last night and frankly, I'm just astounded at how the filmmaking is in this movies. Also mildly insulted lol.

I’ll just join in on the praise for Dawn, since it’s one of my favorite movies ever. It’s dark, emotional, epic, and has some great action and visuals. It is The Empire Strikes Back of the reboot trilogy.

Ok, lest's just say it - the king is naked.
This is so disappointing after all the good reviesw it got. Second half is boring as hell (and much too long), characters do stupid things, and whole ending is laughably bad. So, they built the wall to defend themselves from Apache helicopters? And apparently built it on some gas tanks? Beginning was good but everything went downhill after Caesar got captured. There's so much stupidity in the script I dont even know what was the worst fail in th movie. Whole second half looks like some improvised role playing session lead by some incompetent gamemaster, who doesnt really know what to do, trying some things and when eventually decide how to push the plot forward it's even worse. It really looks like Reeves wanted to do his own "Apocalypse now" but failed miserably. I really dont want to see how he will waste Batman. Rise - 8/10 Dawn - 6/10 War - 4/10 |

And a character called 'Nova' being around something like 2000 years too early... and humans becoming mute for a reason which misses the point of the mute humans in the original film... and Nova being named after the hood ornament of a Nova... ![]() |

War is my second favorite, with Dawn being the first, leaving Rise in last place.
What most people don't understand is War is more of a character study of Caesar's ability to lead. While some were expecting ape vs man non-stop bombastic action, the "War" in this film is a conflict of philosophy between Caesar and the Colonel. |
