Default man i don't know what to do??

well i sold my sammy 56" dlp today and i called BB and the panny 58" v10 is on back order everywhere BB told me it may be a month or 2 before they get them

so i checked out the 54" v10 and they are hard to get as well. dont want to settle for anything, but now i have no tv in my HT room. i am going to move my daughters 40" sony in there for now to atleast have something for now.

i was thinking about buying the sammy 55" 8000 led instead, but dont feel right about it. i dont want to get the lower s model cause i heard the v10 series is the newer better model. i dont know what to do being without a tv more than 50" large is kind like the DT's for me

i even called a few online places that carry panny plasma's and they dont have any either. damn this is really getting me

Well, good luck in your search. It appears that you were left without a tv when you sold the Sammy. Hopefully, you will be able to find the 58".

actaully those pics are the ones from the guy i bought the speakers from, that is his basement. my HT room is in a finished basement and i have pondered the thought of a projector setup. for me it seems like too much work, with picking out and buying a projector, buying a screen, measurements, installing all of it. too much work for me i guess ( sorry ). grabbing a good tv and setting it up is just soooo much easier i think.

thanks anyways...

Good luck on your quest, though my projector setup wasn't very difficult at all, and I will probably never look back.

Take a look at the new Samsung UN55B8500 LCD with Local Dimming LED backlighting that is on display in some retail stores like Best Buy. According to CNET nothing beats the picture quality of the new Samsung 8500 series accept for the discontinued Pioneer 2008 plasma models. The black level's on the UN55B8500 are better then the Panasonic V10 and over all picture quality is better as long as you seat in the center for most your TV viewing. The Panasonic V10 is a better choice for those that watch most of their TV viewing off axis. The UN55N8500 like all other LCD flat screens picture looks poor off axis compared to a plasma.

actually it would work out really well for me cause 90% of the time its my wife and i watching tv from straight on. i do have a sofa on the side wall, but the viewing from that spot is still very good. the only time i would have an issue is when family or friends were over.

my choices right now, but money is stopping my on some choices are

panny 58" v10 (none in stock anywhere)
panny 54" v10 (same as above)
pioneer krp 600M (a bit out of price range, but still may be considered)
samsung 55" LED (model 8500 is over priced right now)
vizio 55" LED (have to check it out first, have not seen one in person yet)

i am surprised i have not seen a sony i really like yet, i was always a sony fan in the past and have owned several sets and still have one now. i have been told by alot of ppl to buy a plasma cause they are the closes to a real picture you will get. so many choices

All I can say is be patient and get what you want. Don't get the Sammy if you want the Panasonic more. Wait it out, it will be worth the wait and you will be much more satisfied in the long run.

i dont want to go that small, sorry. i thought about a 50", but its just too small for my room setup. i sit 12 feet from my tv spot, so 54" to 65" is the size i need. 58" panny would be great, but i could sacrifice and get a 54" panny if i can find one.

i will hear back from an online dealer about a few options tomorrow when he calls me.

ya i thought about that as well. grab a tv watch it for 25 days and then return it and see if the panny's are available by then. just hate all the unpacking and repacking

i hear ya, but i that means i will have to wait atleast 3-4 weeks. i moved my daughters 40" sony into my HT room today after i sold my sammy dlp. iam sitting 12 ft away and boy does that 40" look small. almost having the shakes from not having my 56" there.

hopefully i will hear something tomorrow from a local seller. waiting to hear tomorrow on the 58" panny in stock or possibly a pioneer 600M KRP. we shall see i guess.

Get a 'temp' set from Costco to use until you can find the 58V10. They have a 90 day, no questions asked return policy. Sorry, I wouldn't normally promote something like this, but I hate to see you settle for an LCD, particularly if you have to pay the outrageously overpriced $$ for the LEDs.
