Assuming they do come out in November... how long has that been that the only way to get them was via the trilogy?

The worst part was all the people who got #3 free with their PS3 who then had to buy the trilogy and have 2 copies of #3!

My local used book store has at least a dozen copies of Spidey #3 on Blu because of all the people who had to buy it and didn't care how much they could sell it for.
The Forum is about to be rewritten by two guys who can't spell.

Of course the new releases have extras. Oh well, maybe I can dump 1 and 2 from the boxset separately on ebay before the general public is wise to this re-release.

But there's no announcement for SM3 or boxset double dip?

I wish they would have released trailers with the first & second movie. With the first I would have liked to see the twin tower teaser trailer. Oh well.

I'm guessing the trilogy is reference material and is not likely to get new transfers?

The transfer of the first is a bit average (not bad, just not great), the second and third are solid. Having said that, I'd be really surprised if it's a new transfer on the first film.

I'd be in for this if the re-releases of 1 and 2 actually included more footage added into the movie, new extra features don't interest me.

This is great news. I've been waiting for this. I think it's odd that they are just doing a re-package on 2, it leads me to think it will be released again at some point with extras. Either way, I'll buy at the right price. Also, I liked all of the films.

Thumbs up Single release of Spider Man.

More info on the single release of Spider Man.

http://www.highdefdiscnews.com/

Sony has announced plans to finally bring the 2002 Sam Raimi directed film “Spider-Man” starring Tobey Maguire, James Franco, Willem Dafoe and Kirsten Dunst INDIVIDUALLY to Blu-ray Disc on November 16th. The title was previously available in the “Spider-Man Trilogy” Blu-ray box set released back in 2007. This release is part of what is being called an “Essentials Repackage” (whatever that means) and includes some new bonus content, so I’m hoping that means a new Hi-Def video transfer as well. In fact, speaking tech specs, so far what I know (according to Sony’s press site) is that it will be in full 1080p Hi-Def in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a lossless 5.1 mix (likely DTS-HD MA, instead of the Dolby TrueHD featured on the previous release). This again is speculation until we get an official press release for the tech specs. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $17.49 price tag. The bonus materials set to be included (all of which were absent from the previous release) are listed below.

* movieIQ: connects you to access real-time information on the cast, music, trivia and more while watching the movie!
* Blu-ray Exclusive Spider Sense Trivia Challenge: Test your SPIDER-MAN movie knowledge in this over feature trivia game.
* The Spider-man Cutting Room: Create your own video using clips and music from the movie and share it via BD-Live!
* Commentary with Filmmakers & Cast
* Commentary with Visual Effects Designer and Crew
* Commentary with Tobey Maguire & JK Simmons
* Historical Documentary – Spider-Man: The Mythology of the 21st Century
* HBO Making of Spider-Man
* “Spider-Mania” an E! Entertainment Special
* Director Profile: Sam Raimi
* Composer Profile: Danny Elfman
* Behind the Scenes of Spider-Man: Documentaries, Featurettes, Filmmaker Profiles & More
* Screen Tests
* Gag/Outtake Reel
* Webisodes
* Music Videos: Chad Kroeger featuring Josey Scott “Hero” & Sum 41 “What We’re All About”

+1 Nice to see the first one getting the full "web" of extras. Back in DVD's heyday Spider-Man 1 and 2 were great releases IMO (each getting a 2 disc set)

Oh I know, but it would be the same way they handled a trilogy. They left one movie out. Or you could say they released one movie early (SM3)
