Question Disney's Tangled: 2D or 3D?

I know there are plenty of threads already discussing Tangled, but I wanted to see which of the two combo packs, the 2D version or 3D, was most popular with Blu-ray buyers.

I've heard conflicting reports so far; some people are saying that the 2D version was flying off the shelves, but based on the collection counts on this site, more people own the 3D combo pack so far.

So, which one did you get?

3D mainly because I wanted the entire package especially the Digi copy.

BTW, this is my first 3D-BD purchase.

Mine too! I have no plans to go 3D any time soon, but I have a feeling that Disney is going to keep up the habit of making the DMR coupons available only for the 3D copies, so I doubt it will be my last. I know quite a few people have had success using the 3D coupon for the 2D combo pack, but I haven't tried that. Plus, like you said, if you want the digital copy, the 3D combos may be the only way to get them for some of these titles (Tangled so far, and The Lion King this fall).

I wanted the 3D from Target, but they were long gone before I got there, so I went ahead and got the 2D. I currently do not have a 3D setup.

2D. Don't own a 3D TV, and don't plan to.

2D. I don't respect and will not support the 3D BD format.

Considering that the 3D version has everything the 2D set has an more its highly illogical to buy the 2D version no matter what TV you have.

Yeah I don't support 3D yet, but had to get my digital copy.
Standard 2D will be playing though.

Except that it costs more....

I don't even care if it's $1 more (and it's not); no need to pay for sh!t I'm not going to use.

I think this poll should have had a few more options. Such as people who bought the 4-disc combo pack specially because the DMR coupon was specifically for it and brought it down to around the same price as the 2-disc version without the coupon, or (as a few others have stated) because the 4-disc set comes with the digital copy.

It would just be nice to know how many people actually bought the 3D pack specifically because it comes with the 3D disc, and would have bought that version regardless of coupons, etc.

3D mostly because it was cheaper than 2D (day 1 only deal) and in part because I wanted "the entire package" from a collection point of view.

I am skeptic about this 3D fad especially when it comes to home entertainment and I personally would like movie studios to focus more on real content and quality productions rather than the latest tech gimmick, but that's just me

But with the Disney Movie Reward Coupon the are the same price. Id have to question the sanity of anyone who would pay more to get less.

3D is the future. People who buy any other version are denying themselves the option to future proof themselves.

I bought the 4-disc 3D version. I don't have a 3D HDTV or 3D BD player and feel no current need to upgrade, but the film was made for 3D, not some crappy conversion, and with the combined Target and Disney coupons, I got it for $15. Under those conditions, why wouldn't you buy the 3D version?

At least until Smell-O-Vision comes out, lol j/k

I'm not sure if 3D will ever become the standard, but I figured why not just get the best of what is available right now. Maybe I'll never use the 3D disc, or maybe I'll be glad I got it now instead of upgrading later.

I bought the 3D combo pack and have the 3D bluray for sale. I usually do this and it keeps my spending costs a little lower.

Actually pd less for the 3-D than I would have for the Reg. Edition.. 3-D maybe in the future but it's still a good 5-years away.

*This is my second 3-D purchase just in case

Haven't picked it up yet but will be getting the 3D version. I don't have a 3D capable TV or receiver yet, but I thought I might as well future-proof my collection.

Did the same thing when I bought Resident Evil Afterlife.

Agree, but I got 3D version because I'm always look to buy the biggest package released. And the 3D Slipcover looks much better!
