Hey. I personally love the video and audio quality on 30 days of night. I actually find this film to be the best vampire movie since near dark. Really really amazing viewing experience on blu. You might want to pick up some titles from starz too (old anchor bay) Halloween (1978) looks great.

I own 77 Horror titles and here are few with great picture quality.

Also The Messengers has awesome picture quality and is a dirt cheap Blu.

i have watched the exorcist and thought the day scenes look great but night scenes looked quite grainy, so does the blu ray look better or worse watching it on your 100" projector, i ask this because i too am looking for a projector that size or bigger and want know if other old horror blus you watch look good upclose or too overblown

There is supposed to be as the film hasn't been DNR'ed beyond recognition

Film grain is the texture of processed film due to the presence of small particles of a metallic silver et cetera.

Yeah, the Exorcist looks AMAZING on blu. The grain is supposed to be there, as it's an authentic representation of the media and process used to film the classic. Yes, watching The Exorist on a 100" screen is a wonderful event.

Also, most projectors will display a 100" picture easily. The contrast ratio and lumens will dictate how the picture looks from 100- and up, among other factors.

For an older movie, The Shining looks stellar. I have the HD DVD which is identical to the Blu-Ray aside from having TrueHD instead of PCM, but it's an amazing transfer.

I just watched The Exorcist a couple nights ago and it looked incredible on the 100" screen. Some scenes had some grain but mostly the picture was simply awesome. It was my first time watching it on the 100" and it was soooo much better than a smaller screen. I had the sound system turned up quite a bit and it was a whole new experience. This is just my opinion but i have watched a lot of movies on smaller screens like a 42" or 50" Plasma and then watched again on my 100" and it is just a much better movie experience to me with the bigger screen and a fairly decent sound system.
