True Lies - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know when or if True Lies will be officaly released on Bluray? I have not found any information on it. I would say its one of Arnold Schwarzenegger best work outside of T2. This deserves Bluray treatment.

It will be eventually, I'm guessing 2012 this should be available on BD

This is one I'd really like to see, even if it doesn't get much effort put into it. I'm pretty sure all of the DVDs have been 2.35:1 and non-anamorphic (which doesn't look too great!)

As much as I love Bill Paxton as "Chet", he is a lot of fun to watch in True Lies.

Even if they don't release True Lies (which I'm sure they will) they could always make it a double feature...True Lies/Eraser. Which is another Arnold film I love. He has so many that needs to be blurayed.....<-----

Downloaded the 'HD'

version from the PSN last night. Ugh! What a horrible, murky, barely-above-DVD transfer it was.

Don't bother with this one, and if they use the same transfer for the BD, don't bother with that either. It boggles the mind that the only release this has had in the past 14 years is a non-anamorphic laserdisc-port in the US and a censored DVD in the UK.

I have an anamorphic True Lies UK DVD which is uncut, i think they released some uncut copies by mistake for a while and then withdrew them. I have the Australian DVD of Eraser which is anamorphic and uncut. (Both are PAL)

There is polish DVD edition which is 2.35:1 and anamorphic. Looks quite good.

I can only recommend the Japanese DVD of True Lies, it is anamorphic, has DTS 5.1 in at least one of its editions and you won't have to deal with any PAL speed-up issues like the above mentioned rare uncut UK DVD or the Polish DVD.

I want this on blu-ray. One of Arnold's better films...Terminator, T2, Predator, Commando are my favorites. I would definitely pick this one up.

I think both movies are in the bottom of the Abyss! JC said he was working on them, guess we'll continue the waiting game!
