So far the first disc is a definite improvement over the German version, which was inconsistent in quality. It looks like this was actually restored, maybe not from the original master, but it's consistently sharp as far as image quality, tho this movie will never look like a 2012 film as far as razor sharpness. Colors are nice, but not overwhelming.

The scene with John the Baptist in the dungeon was a HUGE improvement. The blacks were almost inky. Very nice

Sound is very good as well. Also plays in u.s. bluray players. Works in my ps3 The second disc is great as well. The sermon on the mount looked terrible on the German version but looks terrific here!

This is a winner. Looks and sounds TERIFFIC, I ordered it from http://www.mixup.com/mixup/. They take PayPal. However, it's a Mexican site, all in Spanish. The prices are in pesos, so dont be alarmed when you see the price shipped is $500. LOL. I ORDERED it March 14 and received it today! The missing scenes some folks talk about are NOT in it, however, but this is still the best we will get for now! Amen, God Bless and Happy Easter my fellow blu-ray fanatics!

The temptation is not there, but wasn't ever in the broadcast. The scenes everyone asks about are the Judas scene where he is persuaded to sell Jesus out and the moment in the last supper when Christ says one of u will betray me.

They never gave me a tracking number, but I ordered on the 14th and got it today, so Friday should be when you get it. You'll enjoy it. It looks pretty darned good, and way better than the German version as far as consistency in PQ.

While I'm disappointed two scenes are missing, I think I can live without them considering this is a 6.5 hour movie that's being presented in the best quality. I won't be able to order this till Friday (which means I won't get it in time for Easter), but I started registering on the site. How do you guys format your address on there? It forces you to put it in 3 lines (not including the city, state, county, and zip). Do they want it like this:

99999
NE
99th ST

Anyway, thanks, Bladerunner for the coverage. I'm looking forward to both hearing your detailed thoughts and checking this disc out for myself!
