Default Disneynature's Chimpanzee - on Blu-ray in August 21 Pre-order

Chimpanzee Blu-ray

Saw the news on the frontpage, that Disneynature's Chimpanzee will be hitting Blu in August. I hope this isn't the last Disneynature movie we see. There's also Pollen, which got a theatrical release in France. Hope that one at least gets a straight to Blu release like Crimson Wing did.

Pollen aka Hidden Beauty, really does need a Blu-ray release. It looks breathtaking .

Its actually listed on the UK Disneynature website here:

http://www.disney.co.uk/disneynature...hidden-beauty/

Although there isn't a UK Blu-ray release.

yet another Disney release I'll be getting day one. This year has been crazy for Disney releases. So far I've bought:
- Lady and the Tramp
- The Muppets
- The Lion King 1 1/2
- The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride
- John Carter

So now I have to get:
- Home on the Range
- Treasure Planet
- Chimpanzee
- Pocahontas/Pocahontas 2: Journey to the New World
- The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under
- The Aristocats
- Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure
- The Tigger Movie
- The Great Mouse Detective
- Cinderella
- Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True/Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time
- Pete's Dragon
- Finding Nemo

At $20 a pop, my wallet will be in pain

Pollen aka Hidden Beauty: A Love Story that Feeds the earth would be great if it got a 3D IMAX release. Would be awesome seeing the bees flying up to you, etc. The trailer for it looked great. The trailer was on Youtube with the North American title, but then it got pulled, so I don't know what Disney is doing with that one.

I bet that the suits at Disney maybe thought it was too mature and not kid friendly enough like African Cats and Chimpanzee. Same approach with Crimson Wing and why it did not get a theatrical release here. I thought Crimson Wing was the best one of the series and the one that felt the most like a documentary - but that's why I could see kids getting bored with it.

Yes, quiet true. Crimson Wing to me is also the strongest. As Pollen did get a French theatrical run, I wonder if it got an English narration for a US/UK release. Hopefully it does get a Blu-ray release, as the next Disneynature film.

Usually I like Disneynature's stuff, so this might be good to have.

Pictures of Chimpanzee (I didn't receive the slipcover which I am sure it should come with, as all Disneynature releases have slips. will be contacting them to send me one ):

unfortunately Tim Allen's narration can either make it or break it - for me it was the latter.

He's cute... until he's older, and rips your face off.

Speaking of ripping faces off, were those filmmakers not out of their minds to be so close to these apes while filming the fights?

I picked up the 5 new Disney animated titles, but didn't get this. Something tells me that I should have picked this up as well...

Does this documentary cover only the common chimpanzee or the bonobo as well?

I can't imagine the documentary being a treasure of information though, seeing it's Disney and it's directed towards kids.
I bet they don't mention the sexual area of these animals, our closest relatives in nature...
